normal tempo more rigid

Post by skull » Tue May 18, 2010 11:46 pm

its still to easy to brake
i think the maximum slowdown should not be more than one second
when i want a weak guy making tempo i do "with all"
and tempo "alone" is good for splitting the peloton or the last 3 kilometres but not for longer ways, especially when you want to ride with more than one guy

With red tempo, i am ok with that.

But on the other hand, i really don't understand how it should be possible to do yes alone in blue or green. With that a rider is told to hold back, not to invest his full power, and so he will let everybody pass him to help. So in my eyes, green and blue automatically has to mean yes with all. If you want to go faster and not letting everybody participate, a rider has to be willing to put in more energy to get faster and so go to red tempo.

of course red
any other tempo-option do not have the goal to get the maximum tempo
i think normal tempo with red have this goal
and somebody who slowdown such a group for more than 1 second per km really suck

Hm. I'm not sure. I think, on the other hand that could rise the chance to slow down a chase. Because when you're forced to make tempo "with all" as soon as somebody has just a tempo worker who is 3 or 4 flat points weaker than yours, then there could come a team, that's also present in the breakaway for example, and put in a 70 flat rider.

yesterday a 66/75 flat/downhill guy was able to make tempo at -1 (steeper anyway) against/with 83/70 and 75/70
he dont have more energie, that cant be right
and its not really an option to alternate tempo alone with my two guys

But why not? Tempo "alone" with the 75/70 -> the 83/70 would still be in, while the 66/75 would be left out.
