Re: Wizards Cycling public relations
I hope the less time for RSF are the only bad news and not the change in your private life. 2-3 races per week are around 10 to 15 race each month. So you don't need a licence anymore. See it from that point
I didn't mean to say it. But I meant what I said.
Re: Wizards Cycling public relations
Don't worry, bad news only for RSF. Private life is superb right now! I hope I can manage to make some time so I can still regularly ride, but I need to see how things evolve in the coming weeks.team fl wrote:I hope the less time for RSF are the only bad news and not the change in your private life. 2-3 races per week are around 10 to 15 race each month. Re: Wizards Cycling public relations
i had a nice dinner yesterday evening with Glazemaker, strictly business of course...he said, he could imagine to ride for Rockstar Inc in the future...so, next step for you is to sell himLizard wrote:Bad news
So, as it looks with a huge change in my private life I don't know if I am able to play this game anymore, most probably only 2-3 days a week, if even so much. Can't even ride the Sachsen-Tour as I wanted to, missed so many stages at Brasil, doesn't look too good. For the moment, I will keep the team, but it looks like the Lizards could be going out of business soon.

Old riders sold
Due to the lack of time right now and also motivation issues to play the game, we sold the older riders to make space for new talants. We are mainly looking for good flat riders for one day races and stay in the sprint department if we are going to play again during the next months.

Re: Wizards Cycling public relations
If anything he wants to join a team that has the riders to help him. So Hugos former team is perfect, Yamada and Häfeli, 2 guys trained by Hugo, who still profit from his training system, 89+88. That's what Glazemaker needs. That said, the ape is clearly voting for SM as the next destination for Gerald G.
A team that starts MSR (if it was today) with:
Glazemaker
Arbuckle (co leader, gets a helper, for sure no waiting for Glazemaker)
Bezjak 87
Gardjijauskas 84
Griffin 81
Skvarka 76 (gets a helper to help Arbuckle later, 58 mountain!)
Sajbok 75
Rastorgujevs 75
Sarbek 65
Would just be too much fun.
Tverendahl with 60-86 too expensive
Vilkovik with 59-86 too obviously, even if he costs less than 40k. If anything bring Bozovic who costs exactly 40k but can sprint!
McBernick to weak in mountain (this one actually true...)
Ok, maybe SM would add Hlohovsky for Gardzijauskas, 58-75, better in the mountain, Gardij too weak, and of course Hlohovsky is cheaper, very imporant, if you save 2000 credits often enough you get to buy an addional Sarbek more often!
I really want to enjoy SMs Glazemaker teams, promises to be a lot of fun.

Wizards Cycling out of business
Hi there fellow cycling freaks. So far I haven't taken the time to say goodbye. In the past months I wanted to see if I still can afford the time necessary to play this game, but it turned out I'm too busy with stuff that's just more important than gaming. I don't find the time for tours, probably could ride single day races but can't commit myself to this game anymore. Today it's already 6 and a half years ago when I was riding my first race in RSF. Since then, many came, many left, many victories where achieved, many misses aswell. All in all, this game has given me so much. Basically, I was in this game the whole time. Turns out I can't since I started to work properly, and I think that even if I will find more time in the future I probably won't restart to play Radsportfreaks. So this is a real goodbye, not only a hiatus.
At this point, I leave the game with great memories, thanks to some really cool people around here. Those who are meant will know. Thank you for some wonderful years in my life, I enjoyed your company every time we met again on the road. I don't think it's necessary to say more, well let's just say I hope you can enjoy this game as much as I did, then you'll have some great races to be ridden. Good luck for everyone - in RSF aswell as in real life.

A possible return
As of now, Wizards Cycling has competed in a few races and is likely to go for the Eneco Tour this year with a brand new squad built up from scratch. The team management is not certain whether to keep cycling, but for the moment we are back in. The team orientation - as always used to be - is heavily centered around winning stages and if possible, classic races. For now, we have a solid sprinter team built around Tyler Keeran, US-american sprint star. With Mark Thielemans we found a decent talent for diffcult stages, a rider with no clear weaknesses. The next investments will go into more barodeurs and puncheurs, likely even a pavés expert.

ENECO Tour stage 1
Since our band rehearsals for this week are cancelled, we're lucky to ride at Eneco after all. We found ourselves a nice peloton, a lot of friendly chat and enjoy the race a lot. We managed to bring Keeran into a position to win a mass sprint finish and luckily found the right spot in the sprint chain to make it to a photo finish against Filippo Ganna (Auxilium Torino) and Tyler barely was able to pass him by. First victory after reforming the team! #FeelsGoodMan

Let's try something else
I was wondering why I didn't buy a set of new talents when I restarted playing, and felt like building a new team the way I wanted to would've been better. I could still reset the team, so that's exactly what happened after riding todays' Il Lombardia. The Lizards found some interesting riders on the transfer market and are going to build something I don't remember any other team trying out before. Looking forward to this! I will ride my next race in November. See you guys soon.

Re: Wizards Cycling public relations
We've got our dream rider!
As said, I've found some interesting riders on the transfer market. The first auction luckily ended in our favour and we would like to announce our first captain for the coming year:
Name: Elias Hendrickx
Age: 21
Place of birth: Oudenaarde
Nationality: Belgian
Skills: 49-59-73-48-78, 35 Reg, 64.1 Pavés
As Elias Hendrickx might not be the fastest on the line, he will be a great captain for hard stages where other sprinters might not be able to keep up. We always wanted to try something out-of-the-box, and Hendrickx will be the captain to try that out. In addition to that, we'll of course need some barodeurs to work for his attempts. We've already found a really solid one:
Name: Theo Vandevelde
Age: 21
Place of birth: De Panne
Nationality: Belgian
Skills: 49-74-77-48-47, 47 Reg, 66.5 Pavés

Team complete
After hard negotiations with Tyler Keeran, we finally could convince him to stay with our team. He won this years' Eneco Stage 1 and wanted more salary for the off-season. After some talks, we were able to make him stay after all alongside his helper Jan Evermaat, who will stay with the squad aswell. The entire roster consists of the following riders:
Captains:
Name: Elias Hendrickx
Age: 21
Place of birth: Oudenaarde
Nationality: Belgian
Skills: 49-59-73-48-78, 35 Reg, 64.1 Pavés
Info: Hendrickx is gonna be our man for the hard stages, in which Keeran will not be able to keep up with the pelotons' pace. His goals are stages at next years' Eneco Tour aswell as Gent-Wevelgem. He's also taking a look at Milano-San Remo, but he claims it's unlikely he will have a chance at such a race.
Name: Tyler Keeran
Age: 29
Place of birth: Philadelphia
Nationality: US-american
Skills: 49-64-64-57-91, 38 Reg, 66.1 Pavés
Info: Keeran is our main sprinter and with Hendrickx he'll have a good rider to set him up in sprints on the easy stages. He's determined to win at least 5 bunch sprints - let's see what we can do for him!
Name: Mads Spellerberg
Age: 21
Place of birth: Kolding
Nationality: Danish
Skills: 55-73-68-75-55, 39 Reg, 68.2 Pavés
Info: Spellerberg is a great time trialist and good on several parts of the road race. He wants to be good at some of the shorter tours to come. Anything between 3 and 6 day stage races could be his territory!
Luxury helpers:
Name: Nathan Bos
Age: 30
Place of birth: Hasselt
Nationality: Belgian
Skills: 50-84-75-53-55, 38 Reg, 73.9 Pavés
Info: Nathan Bos is a great setup rider for mass sprints and will also get chances on breakaways every once in a while. We are sure he can win a stage for barodeurs when the situation for a group is good.
Name: Jan Evermaat
Age: 29
Place of birth: Leuven
Nationality: Belgian
Skills: 54-82-63-50-43, 40 Reg, 72.7 Pavés
Info: Evermaat is already a highly appreciated helper in our team and will keep this function on serving for Keeran's and Hendrickx' success. As his sprint capabilities are not the best, it's rather unlikely we'll send him in breakaways.
Name: Henrik Nygaard
Age: 21
Place of birth: Stavanger
Nationality: Norwegian
Skills: 54-71-68-51-48, 35 Reg, 71.0 Pavés
Info: Henrik Nygaard could be a dark horse for cobblestone races in the coming year. He will mostly work for mass sprints, but also set up the deciding pace for cobblestone classics. Let's see, if he can win some races!
Name: Theo Vandevelde
Age: 21
Place of birth: De Panne
Nationality: Belgian
Skills: 49-74-77-48-47, 47 Reg, 66.5 Pavés
Info: Vandevelde is not only a good rider, he's a dream flat rider for any team. He will work a lot for our sprinters, but due to his good regeneration I wouldn't be surprised if he's in a lot of breakaways on hilly stages.
Water carriers
Name: Kaspar Markov
Age: 24
Place of birth: Orenburg
Nationality: Russian
Skills: 44-74-72-48-46, 49 Reg, 65.6 Pavés
Info: Markov will be our rider to control the peloton at the early stages of a race. Good regeneration and a cheap salary is all we were asking for this role!
Name: Jamie Simmons
Age: 20
Place of birth: Adelaide
Nationality: Australian
Skills: 49-67-74-54-49, 37 Reg, 70.9 Pavés
Info: Simmons may not have the regeneration to be in tempo on every stage, but with his excellent skills on the cobbles it is likely he can become a great helper for some of the classics.
As of now, we still have some money left and are looking to hire a tenth rider very soon. We want to expand our team quickly and the main target will be to find a good helper with a lot of regeneration aswell as a real classic rider. At least, there's a high chance that we will want to buy a classic rider for the harder stages. Even a climber could be on the list. We'll have to see what talents appear on the transfer market, as we're likely to buy an outstanding talent if the chance is given - no matter which specialisation. Gaining the money should be no problem as our team is very cheap and has a lot of time to grow with these strong talents.
