Race for U24

I have an idea !
This idea was maybe already proposed in the old german forum ... but let me try (again) !

I saw that the profiles of the Tour de l'Avenir (September) will be online soon, so I can design it.
This race is for U23 for URL. We can do U24 on RSF.

But, the idea is not here. The idea is to include 3teams in 1 team. To have a team of 9 riders, 3 teams have to put 3 U24riders !
Example :
Robymonkey : 3riders U24
Luna : 3riders U24
Bear : 3riders U24

For the fun and especially this week, for the Tour de l'Avenir, they will find a name for this young team !
And during the registration they show their calendar of "sitting" :
Prologue : Luna
Etape1 : Roby
Etape 2 : Luna
Etape 3 : Bear
...

7stages + Prologue = 8sitting. 2days minimum for one sitter.

Of course those riders are not able to ride 2 races. So if a team have the young riders on the Vuelta of Missouri Tour : not possible.
This is a race for "big teams" if we do that. If we authorise these 2riders to be in the Vuelta and in the Tour de l'Avenir, that's not realistic, not really fair, not really good for me, but why not !
September is maybe not to good place in the calendar. We can pu it in October for example for a try. 22-29 of October.

And if 3x3riders is too hard, because it's not easy for some teams to participate, we can do 4x2 + 1x1, or just 4x2 (8riders team = good idea !). 2stages/sitter, excellent. A good organisation between the teams who put 2 guys in the U24 team is necessary, but it's not bad ! Some players will use the forum for that, a good team spirit could born

We just can think, ameliorate this idea and try during one tour. After, we can do a summary and choose if we continue to develop that !

So, the good points :
- new kind of race
- a new team spirit between different managers
- races for U24 (some of them did only 10-20races at 25yo)
- Points for U24
- a good idea to put their form
- new classifications (U24riders, U24 teams "name found" by robymonkey, luna & bear) = a new challenge !

Maybe we should race the Tour de l'Avenir like the World Chamionships, with national teams like it's done in reality. Top 21 (U23-) countries are permitted. Managers may select their desired country in order of the team's ranking. But not with 9 riders per team, but with - how many are it in real? - that much.

Seems you need to make a whole new system, that would be much work I'm afraid

And I told you before, purpose = objective, goal, and certainly not "proposer" in french

When the l'Avenir is ridden it could replace one of the four (three? don't know right now) U23 World championships of the year.


But like NoPik said, it would require a big effort to install this or that new system. I guess, this will stay nothing but science fiction.

I agree with you as well, riding it as national teams would be fine! And probably much easier to do for Buhmann

Basically don't care. Don't really see the point, but ok. Maybe fun...3 or 4 teams that ride together, everybody taking a few days. Not sure, but if others like it.. But don't think I would put any of my riders in.

But IF, then when the Tour de l'Avenir is, not in Octobre where we already have the Pavétour and Jura around that time.

The one thing that I don't really like is:

Youth fanaticism without keeping them: Even now it's kind of sad to see how many good young riders are bought, then sold with 24, for different reasons. Not good training, don't like the type of rider anymore, getting too expensive, or was just there to get easy money and grey jerseys anyway. With an extra race for them that might become worse, let's buy the next Huber or a future 70-70-80 to win the Tour de l'Avenir and a few grey jerseys on the way, then after that sell him, it's a boring type of rider anyway. That's a bit the only really negative point, not a development that I'd like to see. But basically I don't really care either way, if Buhmann finds it brilliant or enough managers find it superb and manage to convince Buhmann... why not?
