TdP 2016 10h

Post by team fl » Tue Jan 12, 2016 2:17 pm

It's Pavé time again! Yihaa! Unfortunately, there will be two stages at the weekend (quel malheur!) but the Team FL management decided that it's not possible to miss the Tour des Pavés too after the Sachsen Pavés. So, well we're here, atteding with the following line-up, esp. chosen by Hugo Marxer, who was bound to budget cuts by the financial department:

x1 Jason "The Box" Boxhill
x2 Breyten "BreyBrey" Breytenbach
x3 Iwan "James" Franko
x4 Otto "O_O" Ospelt
x5 Amartya "Marty" Sen
x6 Robertlandy "Roby" Simon
x7 Harrison "Dirty Harry" Tasher
x8 Carlos "El Carlito" Tejeda
x9 Barton "Zwieback" Zwiebach

Team is pretty cheap, so are the goals: be there as much as possible.

Youth classement:

*** Patrick Yates (Mosca Cicli Italia)
** Lachlan Kerby (Mosca Cicli Italia)
* Iwan Franko (Team FL)

Team classement:

*** Mosca Cicli Italia

Totally boring first stage until the last 20km. Furpach tried the attack at the last pavé km, no problem for Mosca to catch him though. The only intersting part was the sprint in the end. And boy, did Team FL fuck that up. Finally, it was Tuau Lapau who could celebrate the victory, while Phelan gathered his first bonus seconds with place 2. Anyway, nothing's decided yet.

Stage two not lost by stupidity, but by stupid situation. Again the first 2/3 of the race were boring because nothing happend. Then, Hugo Marxer decided that Team FL should launch an attack on Mosca which was followed by two Furpach guys as well. So far so good. Of course, Mosca reacted and could catch them easily, but had to use his helper armada to do so. So, Tasher thought it could be a nice idea to attack on the last pavé km and hoped for Malampa to be in his wheel. Well, he wasn't. And so, although gaining time againt Mosca and joined by Otto Ospelt, Harrison Tasher was caught on the last km with the help of Furpach only to watch Phelan win the stage and gain another 10 bonus seconds on Tasher and Malampa. Grmpf. White also gone. Grmbl. So Phelan is now in Yellow, Lapau in Green (both in union I guess, same time, both one time second and winner...). Tomorrow will be like today I fear. And it is Phelan terrain again.

Only three teams, but a very exciting third stage. Furpach was extremely active and forced Mosca early to ride. This payed off as Sid Help did not even win the stage with 13 secs in front of everybody else but is also now leading the GC with 17 secs in front of Harrison Tasher. In the meantime, Mosca tried to attacked on km 164, followed by Malampa but Boxhill from Team FL could at least block a bit and so Tasher could counter attack later on at km 173. In the Phelan group, only Knowles from Furpach was riding, who then decided to attack himself exactly at the same time as Otto Ospelt decided to. So in the end Sid Help won in front fo Tasher and Ospelt while Phelan and Malampa both lost 48 secs on Help and 35 secs on Tasher and Ospelt. Before the weekend this leads to the following situation in the GC:

01. 00:00 Sid Help (SV Furpach)
02. 00:17 Harrison Tasher (Team FL)
03. 00:19 Otto Ospelt (Team FL)
04. 00:28 Durward Knowles (SV Furpach)
05. 00:42 Cameron Phelan (Mosca Cicli Italia)
06. 00:58 Barton Zwiebach (Team FL)
07. 00:58 Mokin Malampa(SV Furpach
08. 01:00 Mark Ewan (Mosca Cicli Italia)

The rest is alread more than 7 min behind these riders. The Situation for the points classemnt looks intersting too, although in this category, Phelan seems to be in a very good position:

01. 66 Cameron Phelan (Mosca Ciclic Italia)
02. 55 Tuau Lapau (SV Furpach)
03. 42 Harrison Tasher (Team FL)

Youth classement is alread done as Lachlan Kerby from Mosca Cicli Italia is more than 10 min in front of every other rider 24 years old or younger. Regarding the team classement, today was the first time that something has changed. SV Furpach leads 8 secs in front of Team FL while Mosca Cicli Italia is already 08:11 behind those two. Well, guess that's it for today. At the weekend, there will be the two decicive and hardest stages of the tour. So far, although only three teams, it was a nice fight and I hope it will go on like this.

Nice finish for Team FL. Finally when the team manager has been sitted, Harrison Tasher succeeded and won stage 4. And he could defend his GC lead on Sunday. Additionally, the team classement could be won too. For a tour with only three teams, the three days I could ride myself have been fun, I hope the last two were fun too. Last but not least, here are the results:

17.01.2016,10 Uhr Tour des Paves
1. Platz: Harrison Tasher (Team FL)
2. Platz: Mokin Malampa (SV Furpach)
3. Platz: Cameron Phelan (Mosca Cicli Italia)
Sprinttrikot: Cameron Phelan (Mosca Cicli Italia)
Jungfahrertrikot: Lachlan Kerby (Mosca Cicli Italia)
Mannschaftswertung: Team FL

Stage wins by teams:

3 - SV Furpach
1 - Mosca Cicli Italia
1 - Team FL

Stage wins by riders:

1 - Sid Help (SV Furpach)
1 - Tuau Lapau (SV Furpach)
1 - Mokin Malampa(SV Furpach)
1 - Cameron Phelan (Mosca Cicli Italia)
1 - Harrison Tasher (Team FL)
