Basics reform: Give blue a chance!
Don't punish bugusers. We all have to use bugs, since most of them are declared as "features"!
Got a carrot from FL. But they threaten to take it away now.

Re: Giro 2013
Times:
Poll ongoing for the morning, asked by Alma and vagaderi, created by AlkSo, Gaurain proposal :
GIro : 9(10) - 15 - 19 - 21 - 24
I didn't mean to say it. But I meant what I said.
Re: Giro 2013
My proposal:
9 or 10,15,18,20,22,24
9 or 10,15,18,20,22,24
Re: Giro 2013
The Morning Giro poll is closed now with the following result:lesossies wrote:My proposal:
9 or 10,15,18,20,22,24
8am: 4 votes
9am: 6 votes
10am: 6 votes
11am: 2 votes
We technically have two winners, but having 4 votes for 8am as well, but only 2 for 11am, I'd suggest 9am as time for the morning Giro.
Re: Giro 2013
Anybody started designing yet? I could offer some help.

Re: Giro 2013
If interested, I could provide help this weekend for some stages as well. So tell me if there are some stages to do.
As I read it, there seems noone to be doing it till now, so maybe just give Giro Hero Roby the command, so he can devide the work to all that offered help?

Re: Giro 2013
I made a first try with the last stage and I hope the descriptions are not always as bad as for that one (map not very detailed, route description pretty fuzzy). Not that it matters in the end as it's all flat anyway.Robyklebt wrote:He doesn't want

Re: Giro 2013
We're all bosses, so we all just say what we'll do.
Ape will start with stage 9 Because it ends in Firenze...
Then will continue from stage 3 on, ... let's say 3-8 the ape can do, today and tomorrow.
So Ape 3-9 basically.... plan is to have them the 28th for form and stuff.

Re: Giro 2013
oh and by the way, Leso can you tell please how exactly the Tour is labled, or do we just create them as one day races and you put them together?
Re: Giro 2013
I also started, stage 21 hoping I'm not interfering with anybody.
What I didn't know was, how the intermediates look like in the profile. I found R and TV, but don't know what either of them means.
Edit: Intermediates added. No particular difficulties on the road. Mintact from km180

Re: Giro 2013
R ist die Verpflegungszone, TV ist ein Zwischensprint, soweit ich es verstehe.
Re: Giro 2013
The design method is the same for all, you only need to choice the right stage nr in te field and to declare it as Giro 2013.Cerro Torre RT wrote:oh and by the way, Leso can you tell please how exactly the Tour is labled, or do we just create them as one day races and you put them together?
I´ll put all together later for the calendar.
I´ll design the stages 1-2 first and go ahead with 15 if Alkword comes down from stage 21, we´ll maybe meet anywhere.
Re: Giro 2013
Next one, stage 20 now, one of the most difficult stages of the Giro. Easy to find the roads on the map, but some tunnels to overcome. Designed with t4b, but corrected all climbs with detailed profiles from the Giro website. Mintact from km149 (indeed more than 50km, but fully deserved here).
http://www.radsportfreaks.de/radsport/p ... ension=c4f
Stage 19:
Same method as above, this time without ugly tunnels. Mintact at km50 (from the start, not the end )
http://www.radsportfreaks.de/radsport/p ... ension=c4f
Stage 18:
The TT I shortened by 600m as also the track and description didn't really match. 20,6 would have been further up the hill than the profile show, so I just made it 20km.

Re: Giro 2013
So here is my part of the work. There might be same points that are worth a discussion, I point out those that I see already.
Needs a long mintact, starting at 103, because the Passo Cason di Lanza is just to steep to be left in 30s. With all those short stages this year, that should be ok. Beside that no problem, usual mountain arrival.
By far the most difficult stage of my five. First thing is min tact. I chose 143, because Ciampilongo is not that steep, quite far from the finish, and few prone to tactics that need an immediate raction, like sieve attacks. Last is different to the 7 at the last sprint, that's why the change is a few km in front of it.
Another thing is the last climb, which I am not that happy with. The problem is that it has some flat meters in the end, which are not includeable in a correct way. Instead on expanding them to a full km, I chose to ignore them completely. Someone might please review this one and offer his opinion.
Flat stage, mitact at 89, easy choice. Biggest problem are the apostrophes, which the stage editor would allways enter a / before them my only idea was to replace them with an accent. If someone has a better one, please tell me.
Another flat stage, no real problems for the design. Min tact is at Alba, 202, should be clear.
Mountain arrival, the profile was no problem. Only I hope you don't slap me for the mintact I propse... it's 155. The reason is: with the long, but quite flat downhill and the long flat part before Bardonecchia, the climb to Sestrière (which went to be Sestriče by interpration of the editor), that only contains very few steep km's, just lacks significance. Don't thing there's anything expected to happen beside a ordinary sieve. It is totally dominated by the steep last climb.
Desing method was my usual, Google Earth and salites when available (and of usable quality).
Ideas for the stated problems, error corrections or a simple well done are welcome.
If by Monday evening, there's still work to do, I offer to do one more stage.

Re: Giro 2013
Max 5 in the last hill.
Mintact 188
Not sure about the start laps, but pretty irrelevant, just took something that had more or less the right lenght and looked to fit to the map somehow.
Map will be wrong at the end... percentage should be ok (copied from the official site) On the way ugly spikes too. Bikeroutetoaster, wasn't going to google earth the first 200 boring kms.
Mintact km 210
mintact 172
the second 4: 10 10 5, then max 5, last km +3
Mintact from 138
Ugly map with bikeroutetoaster
Mintact from 126
At times not really sure if I followed the right roads, here the info in the roadbook was just not really enough sometimes. Plus they like climbs that are x,5km long. Last one really 1,4 km a almost 9% average... just a single 9 for us finally.. 9 4 or something just changes it completely ... 4 9 .. bah.. no, just let it be at a single 9. Could have been 10 too...
ITT, 55 min all mintact
Mintact at 140
Not that happy with my design basically...

Leave it empty
' and many other signs make bugs... like ; too... the finance page of all who ride it will be bugged... (ok, maybe not in the new design, but...)
Only accent that works as far as I know is "é" è and all other stuff, including ^ fucks it up too... So easiest to just ignore all that stuff, including apostrophes. Just Ca del Poggio instead of Ca' del Poggio (that stands for Cà del Poggio anyway)

Only two stages (16 and 17) missing now on my last count. I'll work on them tonight or tomorrow.

First hilly, then long and flat, but with a hill just before the end, mintact at km214. The mountains in the beginning were just taken over as t4b spat them out, the one before the end was checked in detail.

Stage 17:
Long and flat, but with a hill just before the end (sounds familiar?), mintact at km193.
