16 Uhr El Hierro GD - Abmeldung nicht genommen?

Post by glasgowracing » Tue May 29, 2012 10:03 pm

Hi,

A popular mistake many people do is the following:
1) login, sign in for a race, leave the sign in page open
2) go for lunch (long enough to get logged out, i.e. your session expires)
3) come back, change your inscriptions, sign out, etc.
The page then looks like it took your changes, but as you were already logged out, your changes have no effect.
This might have happened to you.

moin miteinander...

since this mistake seems quite "popular" and especialy since i suffered from it myself a good couple of times, can we please have technology to prevent us from doing it? ie why is the page not redirecting to the login screen if there are done any changes while beeing locked out, the same way that the race or team screen will redirect you to the login screen? as far as i remember (way to lazy to search the thread, sorry) this was / is on buhmans to do list anyway and though (or maybe because) i have no clue of programming at all, i cant imagine that beeing a difficult or time consuming task...

cheers deuse

I dont think it is a mistake, I think it is the normal behavior of a lot of websites which opens sessions only for a specific laps of time and which cut up the connection if the user is off a too long ime to avoid security or other problems.
To avoid this, you must load your side again.

Can you add a function which shows the user that the connection has been cut? In example, that after a certain time of inactivity, the page moves to a "you have been logged out" screen.
