Re: February 2012
Agree with the 20 or 21h argument, when I have school, this 2 times are the only ones which I can ride
it should be good to have 20 or 21h in all the tours
it should be good to have 20 or 21h in all the tours

Re: February 2012
Then you don't agree, because I just said that those 2 times should lose some tours too. Everybody bites in the apple. Enough with "let's have less tours", oh, "one less for the afternoon sounds good". Less tours? Everyone. Or no thanks, enough of hitting on the afternoon.

Re: February 2012
Ups, obviously made a mess of percentages before.. .afternoon has 37,5 of all non-offered tours that are planned with a time for february.
It has only 57% of the the 7 tours with time available.
Evening 71%, the rest 85%.
Less tours, I expect us poor afternoon boys to go down to 42% and all the others at 71% or something .In case my point isn't clear yet, fuck that. No to less tours under the current circumstances.

Re: February 2012
One of the main questions (for Buhman I mean) is Tours for everybody VS Money for everybody. MEaning quantity vs quality. Races for everybody vs strong groups.
Someone has to decide whether there should be MANY TOURS WITH LESS MONEY or on the opposite LESS TOURS WITH (a bit) MORE MONEY.
After that, you can decide of a schedule.
But currently there are much tours with much (easy) money, that's not so good. Especially with this auction system, we might see more and more strange things.

We can change all that we want, its why I proposed to discuss it so early .Robyklebt wrote:7 tours with times in the pdf
The morning (9-11) has 6
The afternoon (14-16) has 4
The early evening (17-19) has 6
The evening (20-21) has 5
The late evening (22-24) has 6
I guess it's too late to change anything.

The morning (9-11) has 6
13h has 1
The afternoon (14-16) has 6
The early evening (17-18) has 5
19h has 2
The evening (20-21) has 4
The late evening (22-23) has 6
24h has 1
I I look this way, one should move from 22-23 to 20-21 but I dont see which one.
If I look the calendar, specially the times with 2 or 3 parallel tours, I find it is a good mix.

Re: February 2012
Now the afternoon is happy.
But fairly sure the evening 20-21 isn't....
Why give Qatar-Algarve-Sardegna the identical times from 16h on? Yes, makes sense to give the 3 similar times, but doesn't have to be the same exactly I think.
16-19-22 Q
15-18-21 A
16-20-23 S
It's a 1h change in each time, "crosses" the borders twice. But gives different people the chance to ride, while only changing one hour.
But actually you would need to consider haut Var, that somebody is designing I think (think read something somewhere) too... it's going to be in, better plan directly with that one too.

Re: February 2012
This short TT to end the tour makes a big difference compared to the past years.
Re: February 2012
26th, Boucles du Sud Ardèche, should be the same profile than last years. I remember that I did it once, but I can't find it (maybe not put in the calendar in 2011 by leso ?).
What about this tour in South Africa ... original ? You will say "season starts, we don't care about these minus races ..." ok, well I was just saying ! http://www.tourofsa.co.za/index.php?mod ... &stageID=1

Re: February 2012
You can add Tour med btw. Will take place after all. 08.02.-12.02. Put it one day earlier ok to have a free day for the NCs.
And then you can happily redo some of the times

I think it wasnt exactly that way. More +1 for important races like cat 5-6.
Well actually i'm not sure there is any rule at all since its never followed anyway !

Re: February 2012
I still don't think it's a good idea to give 20-21 less tours than all other times. They are the nr 1 times as far as I now. Yep, don't give them everything and all, let them occasionnally have to move to 19 and 22 too... but like the newest preview looks is too anti-20-21 somehow.

Re: February 2012
Hmmm just some thinking at this point.
There are 9 tours programmed (counting Tour Med and not calabria, I'm not sure what that is). Let's go for 9 for the example.
Every "period" should get how much... 8? 9? 7? (what is a period anyway ?) (1 less for the afternoon because they suck anyway ?)
Let's say 8...
Morning 8. How would you spread it ?
I think something like:
10h - 4/5/6
9h - 1/2
11h - 1/2
8h - I'm really not a fan
Do the same for all the periods. Then give every time of each period to a tour. But with consideration of certain uniqueness, such as algarve, which is in portugal, that should be ridden a bit later because portuguese people will probably enjoy riding it.
Actually I'm not sure if this makes anything more simple
But since people here seem to reason in periods, start the whole thing from that side instead of what is the actual aproach.
Afternoon:
14h - 2
15h - 3
16h - 2
Early evening:
17h - 2
18h - 3/4
19h - 2/3
Evening:
20h - 4
21h - 4
Late evening:
22h - 4/5
23h - 2/3
24h - 2
You can also add a separate 12-13h period (with less races in that case imo), and a 24h. This is of course open for discussion.
Give every tour a number (1 to 9). Write EVERY time-edition in a file and make a random function which gives to every 22h a 1 to 9 number.
Then you have to correct it for the specificity (portugal for example), and also to avoid 19h + 20h tours, which would be a bit silly with big gaps before and after it.
And after all, there can be a discussion about the periods, the number of editions at every time, the corrections you make. But at least there would be some kind of fix scheme behind it, and something to refer to.
Ignore this if it doesnt make sense, I dont know. Just tried to write a quick something.
