But I see the problem with the unrealistic WC, as normally the best riders will be focussed on that instead of going to some cat2/3 stage race... We could have the stage races as Div6 only, but that's very strict again. Normally we would need something like a points limitation. Races parallel to WC should only have riders with <5000 points or something like that

Re: September 2026
I'm leaning towards adding Cro/Langkawi as beginning of October will have a clear one day race focus. And the one day overlap actually helps one day race participation.

I'm looking at it from a different point of view.
Our game aims to rebuild the original UCI calender and Cro and Langkawi both are 2.pro. The 2'nd highest UCI category. So I think we should ride them.
I understand the WC problem, but can't we simply move our WC to the 21.09.? A day without any tour.

Re: September 2026
You are contradicting yourself here, when you want the real cycling calendar you cannot simply move on of the most important one day race in RL. In my view, riders who ride at Cro or Langkawi shouldn't be able to start at the WC. But I understand that this is technically more complicated to implement than a totally unrelated (to other races/energy) WC race.rsv flaschbier wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2026 7:47 amI'm looking at it from a different point of view.

Re: September 2026
We already handle the WC in a different way than in RL. Both races (road race and ITT) on the same day.
And no, I don't want to block 2 days with WC.
So for me the most simple solution is to move our WC.

Re: September 2026
I do not see the point in the current discussion. Our riders already do so many more races than real riders can do. Races that would be impossible considering travel arrangements. The principles we have are following the real calendar and doing max. 1 race per team and day. Those would be kept.
Of course, it depends on Alk to say it works technically before they calendar gets final. So far we only interpret his old posts.

Re: September 2026
1) our riders do very little races compared to real riders based on our one month = one year simulation. Eddy Merckx won more race than can be ridden by a c4f rider in his whole career.Radunion wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2026 9:47 amI do not see the point in the current discussion. 2) the previous WC races already broke the principle of 1 race per team and day (road race, ITT)
In the past, the rule was ONE DAY reserved for the WC races. But I think we also already broke that rule with riding it in a normal team race once (because WC racing was not possible in new version at that time).
So imo the point of the discussion would be how we WANT to proceed in the future given that the technical circumstances changed. But I think it shouldn't be discussed in the September calendar planning topic, but I didn't start that discussion here.

Re: September 2026
In the past we had U24 world cup too, so it was nice for every active manager that could be involved in a very hard race. Right now the main problem is that if you don't get one of the the top teams you can just sit and watch. Having a race + 2 time trials doens't give the same number of playable spots that there were in the past, I mean competitive spots.
So I'm thinking than have a race like in 2024 already happened (and partially in 2023) Can allow lower rank players to play.
I don't care about bytes if they "races" 1000 or 300 is the same for me, but players should have a chance to play and enjoy the game 24/7

One day races:
As seen here these 2 are missing.
19.09. Gran Premio del Lazio 1.1
20.09. Giro di Campania 1.1.
On the other hand unfortunately the Giro della Romagna seems cancelled again, we had it previewed on the 21st. So cut that.
19+20 of course there's 2 belgian 1 day races as well. Perfect. No need to move the Italian ones (as was originally planned with Romagna), just make it 2 editions each, morning and early evening Italy, afternoon Belgium (or the othe way around.) Works fine like that, number of overall editions doesn't increase, just 2+2 instead of 4+0. Already something to be found on the Lazio site, nothing on any Campania sites, but seems the same organizer.
Cerami on the 26th: Down to cat 1. It's unfortunately not a races for pros anymore, 1.2 UCI, basically U23 teams, Continental teams, club teams (Whatever that is exactly)
Stage races:
Was going to propose to downgrade Britain to cat 2
For me Britain could be downgraded to cat 2. Was gaining in importance 10 or so years ago when we upgraded it to cat 3. It was upgraded to 2.HC from 2.1 at the time, was logic to follow suit with the quite good participation it had. Now still 2. HC, well called 2.Pro now, same thing, but high quality participation is rather going down. 8-7-11 WT teams 2014-2016, 4-9-5 2024-2026. Ok, still 9 in 25, better than I remembered... so keeping it at 3 probably still ok.
WC+parallel races.
If a parallel stage race (or 2 or 20) then of course we demand a parallel one day race.
Also riders participating in any World Championship race obviously shouldn't be allowed to ride any parallel race. Meaning the moment a rider is definitely selected, he gives up whatever race he was in... Then ok for me, respectively don't care. But some superstar like Sherifo riding in Langkawi and winning he WC on the same day? Nobody needs that.

Limitation for riders participating in Cro/Langkawi unlikely to be implemented within one month, so:
Pick your poison:
A) No stage race for 3 weeks
B) Some Superstar potentially riding/winning Cro/Langkawi and World Championships on same day
C) Moving Cro and Langkawi by 1 day from their real date.

Re: September 2026
For me, the WC race (in real life) is too important to be shifted. The ITT race and U23 races (before react) are just moved to give that reserved day more races.
The best solution would be: real races on real dates (WC Road race , WC ITT, U23 WC Road, U23 WC ITT all on different days) are ridden on the real dates + riders participating there are not able to participate in parallel races on that day + parallel races. But that would need a different rider selection process and maybe some other changes.
Until this is possible I vote for A or C.

E) shorten the stage races by one day
I am still in favour of riding both on the same day and still dead against moving stage races.

It's the 25th and the calendar planner is providing you with 3 options to chose from for the final version and you create 2 alternative options nobody asked for. That's current c4f in a nutshell.

The practice here is, the community makes suggestions and the calendar planner decides. The planner is not all-knowing and other ideas exist. For me, it was a surprise we even consider moving tours. This came late for me as well, so I made a late counter proposal, not more and not less.flockmastoR wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2026 6:42 amIt's the 25th and the calendar planner is providing you with 3 options to chose from for the final version and you create 2 alternative options nobody asked for. But there was a lot of discussion about it and those opinions might be already considered giving those options. At least we had an early preview and a lot of discussion, so accepting the proposals made, vote for it or not, tell us they are stupid. But what do you expect? A countless addition of more and more options now?
My only point is: Respect the process, bring a preview on time (Gip to blame a lot lately, not in September), time frame for discussions, Gip decides and communicates it or opens another round of feedback of selected options. Its not like the discussion can start all over again, so pick for favorite or don't.

- A after the 3 GTs isn't good for bigger teams and not fun for smaller one
- B probably the best but are we really ready (tecnically? and psicologically!)
- C For me can be considered a nice midway between A and B
Since midways usually doesn't make anyone happy or unhappy I will vote for C! but we should open another 3d in techic and try to figure out if B has to be the standard from the NEXT WC (that I want remember stands not for toilette)

For B, there needs to be confirmation from Alk to be available on that day or confirmation it is tested well enough that it is not necessary. (Dont know if you Gip already discussed that with him)

Re: September 2026
As I understand it now, there are only two real option out of the three original ones. For me it would be simple in this case. If we are unable to ride at the real dates, there are no tours. We should stick with the policy not to move tours, ever. Not even for good reasons. This is not about democracy, it is about the foundations the game is built on.
I would love to ride one of the tours in its real date, but we will survive without them. I did not think about Alk's holiday when I made the original suggestion to ride the WC parallel to the tours. With the current time constraints we should move it to the general discussion for next year.
One day races with high participation and field splits are nice as well.
