That's exactly what I was looking for when asking for a good conspiracy theory.

Re: Nationenkomitee / Nations Committee
Hi Guys,
i received another message fom you:
"Nations Committee requests clarification
Dear Elmo-Tours, the Nations Committee is currently discussing, if your rider Donaldo Pato may keep his nationality (CU). If you can provide a good reason why the rider has the correct nationality, please provide some clarification on its correctness (e.g. a Wikipedia link incase of real persons or some short explanation). You can do so in the additional information field on the rider page (Team -> Riders) or, if this is not sufficient, in the forum. Best regards, Nations Committee"
Thanks for your interest in Donaldo! Let me explain my thougths on choosing this specific name and nation:
Pato is a real Surname (as it's proofed here: https://www.ancestry.com/last-name-meaning/pato). It has its roots in spain and portugal but is nowadays also common in other hispanic or portugues communities as for example the former brasilian footballer Alexandre Pato. Cuba is a spanish speaking country, so this should be no problem.
Besides that: Donaldo is a legit first Name: It is the latin/romanic Adjustment of the scotish name Donald and you can find it especially in Italy, Spain an Latin-america, as you can read here (last paragraph) (https://www.ancestry.com/first-name-mea ... eo-lang=de)
We from Team Elmo all hope Donaldo can keep his citizenship, and we kindly ask you - with all understanding for not wanting so called 'trottels' in the game - to not restrict creativity and fun with to strict rules.
Best regards,
Elmo
Edit: In case you didn't notice: I wrote a kind of lore/fanfiction for all of my riders and my team in your Forum: who are they, whats there charakter, what are they aiming for, where they come from and why they sign up for a european time, etc. (viewtopic.php?f=36&t=10507). You surely can translate it easily with google-translator or so. I have no interest in names of former famous figures, because i want to write my own stories and histories with and for my own riders, with authentic but creative names. Thats not 'trotteling', thats just fun and creativity and even a bit of work. So i again ask you kindly for not beeing to strict.

you wrote "I have no interest in names of former famous figures" ..then why do you name your riders donald and dagogert duck?
for me thats the question here if Donaldo and Dagberto Pato violate the rule
§ 2 Prohibited Names
(1) Nicknames, artist names (e.g. „Avicii“) or fantasy names (e.g. „Darth Vader“) are not allowed. Riders with such names will be made stateless.
stated in the naming guidelines?
im really not sure about that coz the names themselves are legit
Would like to here an opinions of other managers here coz im not sure how to deal with these names

Re: Nationenkomitee / Nations Committee
"Dagobert Duck" (he only is in germany called this way) is Scrooge McDuck in english and Tio Gilito in spanish. Donald isn't called Donaldo Pato or Donaldo Duck in spanish, he's called El Pato Donald. I guess, here is enough difference and i found two authentic but a bit funny names.
with kind regards

i am aware of that but since you speak german its obviously a reference to both of emElmo-Tours wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2026 1:07 pm"Dagobert Duck" (he only is in germany called this way) is Scrooge McDuck in english and Tio Gilito in spanish. my question here is more of a general one how to deal with such names so i would like to hear whats the stance on such names is in the community to know not only how to deal with these ducks^^ but with similar cases in the future too
Re: Nationenkomitee / Nations Committee
The question is: can the first name exist, can the last name exist, does it sound realistic regarding the nationality. In my opinion all three criteria have been met. so I don't get the problem with this name. Is its intention to be a funny name? sure, but why not? And it's clearly not a nickname problem... Furthermore, the name is not total jibberish (like AAA BBB) or in any way offensive.Servicio Médico wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2026 1:20 pmi am aware of that but since you speak german its obviously a reference to both of emElmo-Tours wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2026 1:07 pm"Dagobert Duck" (he only is in germany called this way) is Scrooge McDuck in english and Tio Gilito in spanish. Re: Nationenkomitee / Nations Committee
yeah like i said before the names themselves are legit so no problem there. maybe its just me that saw donald and dagobert duck right away and didnt really like it coz it kinda disturbs the immersion a bit for meteam fl wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2026 1:30 pmThe question is: can the first name exist, can the last name exist, does it sound realistic regarding the nationality. but true it doesnt really violate the rule as its written.. was more the question if they violate the rule spiritually ..in what the rule is trying to prevent
i still would like people not choosing too many joke names ..but maybe thats just me seo i have to live with it
in this case i didnt even really dislike the two duck names here.. was just unsure if they adhere to the rules.. tho i dont really like having the two comic characters in my head when looking at the names in a cycling game

First overall: Thank you (and thanks to Team FL) for your pacience and for ranking fun over rules in this case!
Second: speaking about immersion: i fully understand you and for the future i will take care of this part even more. For me immersion wasn' that important of a factor after seeing teams named riders after real existing historical personalities/figures like centuries old aristocrats or authors or artists or inventors.
After all i'm really happy for beeing allowed to keep their names and nationalities because it would have been a hell of a task to credible work in the losses in the existing lore of both of them. xD
Cheers and have a good day,
Elmo

Re: Nationenkomitee / Nations Committee
i agree with you about the immersion and real existing historical personalities and so on.. but in the end its just a personal perception .. and even though i would like it more if we wouldnt have them in the game as NC im just there for to make sure rider names follow the rules.Elmo-Tours wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2026 3:25 pmFirst overall: Thank you (and thanks to Team FL) for your pacience and for ranking fun over rules in this case!

So in the end everyone is free to name their riders however they want as long as the names abide by the rules.
Nonetheless i ofc appreciate every name that is more immersive for my own benefit
Anyway we avoided another two nation less riders and you are happy as well so thats already a positive in my book

Re: Nationenkomitee / Nations Committee
Hello, I would like to request that my new driver, Oli Kasski, be assigned Finnish nationality. This request was previously rejected on the grounds that his name was allegedly not Finnish. However, the name was deliberately chosen based on the Finnish ice hockey player Oliwer Kaski, and I clearly stated this reasoning. Despite this, his nationality has now been permanently removed. I do not understand this decision and hereby request once again that he be granted Finnish citizenship.
