Create a own Rider

Post by schappy » Tue Apr 25, 2023 10:19 am

I could be an interesting feature for special guys and everybody could get a rider you want wihtout get maybe overbet by rich teams. So ist is maybe a good feature for small and new Teams.
But we need restictions about it.

My restiction looks like:
- 20 years old
- One Time in 12 month
- same skill restriction from the youth market
- you have to paid the normal price
- only 350 Skill points for the 6 Skills
- not possible in Div 7

The only think i am not really know about the cration is the Pave-Skill, i dont have knowledge about this Skill is Building.

Maybe it could a Christmas Gift, so it only possible to get him in December for January or something else.

So let me hear your opinions.

Interesting proposal. I can't say yet if I'm generally on board, but I'd like to comment on the restrictions and add something to keep it as fair as possible.

Age: no comment on that
Frequency: last one has to be min. 33 years old until you can create a new one and get in the following month. So every 14 month you can create a new one. This could be helpful to avoid a flood of good rides for the GTs or Monuments.
Restrictions: fine for me as you have less skill points you can spend as the best on the market have. Skill points should be discussed more in detail
Price: min 100% Value as long as youth riders were bought for less than value in the previous period on average. Otherwise you have to pay percentage of the previous month rounded up to an integer.
E.g. 10 youth riders were sold in previous month for 21.000.000 $ but the value of them was 19.800.000 so you have to pay for the created rider 107%
Skill points: as there are 385 skill ponts for the strongest climber, 416 for the stringer flat- & TT-cyclist and 393 for a sprinter 350 might be a bit low but the "free to use skill points" should be lower than the max. you can get per rider type. The weighting of the individual skill points should also depend on the rider type, as a mountain rider can get 3 TT skills for each climbing skill. This is very tricky in my eyes.
Pavé: Why not let that be a luck value automatically assigned to a team for its new rider per type. The value is only rolled again once a new rider has been created.
E.g. you get Pavé 70 for your own rider of it's a climber, 61 if it's a flat or TT rider and 75 if you create a sprinter. Next own rider get 52 if you create a climber, 78 if it's flat or TT rider and 64 if it's a sprinter.
Div: no comment on that

Additional
Sell: you can sell your "own rider" but they will never get on the market. They get added to "ExRiders" as if the retired.

In general, I don't like this idea as it sounds like "make a wish" thingy. But that is just my personal preference. I want to earn stuff and don't get it as a present on a silver plate. More appreciation and stuff...

. Anyway, diving into this though experiment, here are my two cents about it:

Age: 20 sounds fine, should be a youth rider from your team development department anyway, if you can create him yourself.
Frequency: once very year sounds fine for me. You still have to decide, what races he should peak for.
Restrictions: should be as we know them on the youth transfer market
Price: 100% sounds okay, but then again, this would restrict teams that are not riding often to a lower frequency anyway I guess. Or to plan ahead very well :)
Skill points: should be defined. But I would include pavé and regeneration skill. But I think it should be diffent for different types of riders, because it can make building some rider types difficult. With 400 points, you can build these riders f.e.:

- 73-54-75-50-55, 50 pavé, 43 reg
or
- 50-59-60-50-82, 64 pavé, 35 reg
but only
- 52-74-74-50-50, 65 pavé, 35 reg

Pavé skill: I would not make the pavé skill random. If somebody wants to create a pavé specialist, that should be possible too.
Sell: you can sell your "own rider" but they will never get on the market. They get added to "ExRiders" as if the retired.

I like that idea, but only with one condition: you still need to wait the full 12 month before you can create a new one.
I didn't mean to say it. But I meant what I said.

* a captain rider who ages later, from 36 onwards. so that you can win several tours.

*or a rider for whom you can increase a value with 5% probability for each training session. i.e. a miniboost for the training.

just brainstorming, without thinking much

Create youth riders for the youth transfer market (Div 1-5)!

Each team is allowed to create a youth driver in one month, who will then appear on the youth transfer market sometime in the next month and must be auctioned off as normal. In order to recognise him quickly, he is already given a name and the nationality must be chosen. This way, he can be recognised by all managers, but only the creator knows who has skilled the driver, thus ensuring equal opportunities for all teams. In order not to bring a lot of top talents onto the market, the following specifications are made. It is therefore easier to create exactly fitting (noble) helpers or even cheap, weak captains for the team and these should then not arouse so much interest in other teams, so that the youth drivers should also be available at a suitable price. Every team that is in division 6 is allowed to create such a rider, because it can be assumed that this team will change to division 5 with the change of the month, at least with the current number of teams.

Sprinters:
50 - 56 (-3) - 79 - 59 - 78 (-4)

Classics:
53 (-3) - 72 (-2) - 75 (-4) - 73 (-4) - 63 (-3)

Mountain riders:
70 (-3) - 54 (-2) - 79 - 53 (-1) - 56 (-3)
( For every mountain point less, there is a maximum of 3 TT points more)

The regeneration is freely selectable without restriction.

The Paveskill would probably also have to be capped somewhat, otherwise the riders are likely to become too strong on cobblestones. Here, however, I lack the knowledge to make a suggestion.

The exact upper limits can certainly still be discussed, this is a suggestion for now.

I came up with the idea when I was looking for young riders to become helpers. But for two months I didn't find any riders who were in the range I wanted in all or even just the important skills. Maybe other players feel the same way.

The advantage would also be a further connection to the game, because you can directly influence something in the driver area, which most players would probably like to do. In addition, the smaller or younger teams are also supported, as it might be more important for them to create the right helpers and especially the weaker captains.

I think the number of usefull riders on the market is good enough. I am very picky in buying new riders, but my problem is always money and not the riders. And I like it to choose from the market and not creating what I need. This is the part of team building in c4f which attrects players, at least me.

i don't see a helper problem like Puper ... find enough helpers for a good price everytime.

To find and to get THE BIG BOSS is more the problem!

I think Schappy's idea is basically good.

But the questions are: ... Need we that really? If everybody could make his captain himself, everybody have a one.
It is technical a great task?

btw. Rhodans idea looks good too:
* a captain rider who ages later, from 36 onwards. so that you can win several tours.
*or a rider for whom you can increase a value with 5% probability for each training session. i.e. a miniboost for the training.

... or only a few Stars more on the market could solve it?

My intention of my idea was, that everybody can get a good (maybe perfect) rider for himself without bid 110% and the rich teams get the best rider, the Teams, which dont have so much Money can have a good on too.

But we really dont need more rider on the Market.

Maybe there is a statistic how the best and most expensive riders trained compared to the riders with a little less starting skills and a much lower price?

We need then a statistic too, how much riders win, who are the best riders...

I both love and hate this idea....

Love the idea of creating my fully custom own rider. Tweaking it completely to make the most out of his potential.

but hate the idea that there will be a big influx of top quality riders (especially around prepped for giro/tour/vuelta)

73-56-x-54-x (183 so 167 left for the other 3 skills]
56-74-x-x-x (130 so 220 left for other 4)
50-58-×-×-82 (190 so 160 left for the other 3)

Other important questions:
-The classic guy and sprinter will be made with min TT to cut cost. So what would be the minimum?
-What would be the pave coefficient? (pave is flat x0.95 eg)

I'm not a fan of this idea. It's not realistic and affects the game too much.
