Manual/Tutorial (Help needed)

Post by Gipfelstuermer » Mon Jul 18, 2022 10:56 am

Hi everyone,

Now that the React-Version is playable and we see some new players & comebacks, we would like to update the in-game Manual. I have thought about a new structure for the Manual. The structure contains only parts of the game that exist in React and the order is the logical order, that a new team would follow after it signs up for this game (first create a team, then inscribe to a race, then ride a race, etc).

Some parts exist in the old manual, but they really need updates/improvements. That's why we need help.

If you have time, take the manual (or a chapter, or a sub-chapter). Update/Improve the text. Post it here.

If a chapter has been re-written, I will also mark it in this post with a different color.

1. Transfermarket / Team Creation
- How to generate Automatic Teams
- How to make a Team Reset
- Div 1-5 transfer market
- Div 6+ transfer market
- Youth Riders
- Auction System (how to bid)
- Naming Riders

2. Inscription
- How to inscribe
- License
- Fairplay Rules

3. Races
- Stage Types (Regular, ITT, TTT)
- Half / Full Stages
- Tempo Settings
- Attacking
- Fighting
- Following
- Helping
- IS / KOM
- Sprint
- Classifications (GC, Points, Mountain, Youth, Team)

4. Training
- Form Settings
- Training Settings

5. Statistics
- Division System

6. Finances

7. Calendar

8. FPC

9. NC

10. Forum
- General Link
- Important Sub-forums / Threads (Mentor, Calendar, etc.)

Parts that we will probably delete from the Manual:
- Short Races

You can also include some "Tipps & Tricks" for new players / comeback-teams. We can include them and give them a special layout / icon.

I am sure, lots of it has been written down somewhere else in the forum before. So if you can copy & paste from somewhere else, that is also OK.

Here`?

The prizes table in manual, are we sure that this is the correct one? I seem to remember for example that a win used to be 100k, then Buh/leso decided to make it 120k The table says 108k. On this one I'm pretty confident actually... but ok, can still be mistaken.

Other things, not same money for stages and one day races? Tought was the same. Table says otherwise, more for one day races.
Points on the other hand the table says same amount of points for stages and 1 day races, I'm remember it the other way around. More points in 1 day races than stages.

Other things don't look exactly how I remember them either, winning the jerseys for example, used to be way too high, then Buhmann made it all the same for all categories, which then was really too low for GTs, here it's somehow slightly different according to the category...

Will see if I can find any old threads about this topic later...

I am pretty sure, that the prize money for stages of tours were a little bit lower.
But i only can say it for 99%. Somebody can see this maybe in the code.

108K indeed is correct because of the factors inplemented by Luques.

120K*0.9(cat.1.)= 108K

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5608

Also lower money on stages also correct due to these factors.
Also jersey money should be affected by this categories thats why its slightly different.

Points arwnkot affected by this categorie inplemention so should be correct same for tour stages and one day races but not 100% sure about this.

Ok, had forgotten this, thanks for the link.

But on the points I have quite a few doubts cat 4 one day race and cat 4 stage. One day race should be higher.

Even in that link Luques posts something that indirectly points towards that:
PS: Kept the idea of "One-Day Race is worth as much as a Tour-Stage of one cat. higher". Wearing of Jerseys will be adapted in the same exact way, so they will scale from 0.8 to 1.25
And found this

The link still works, cool...
Old, so without those money changes yet, but the points seem more like I remember them, although not exactly like that either, faulty memory clearly.

Anyway, hope a GT stage win isn't giving a rider all those points right now, just shown wrong.

Of course forgot to check my points before today... but looking at Payot.... he should have had 312 points after San Sebastian? It was around there, but forgot how much exactly.
Now he has 326, so plus 14, that old link says 147 for second place in a stage, I assume that's then divided by 9 riders and since we're only 7 teams 70%, should be 11 points? With what the manual says it would be 35 and he certainly didn't get that many, good. TTT as one day

Anyway, manual seems wrong, good, would have been catastrophic to get all those points.
Now if the expected winners for tomorrow can check their winning riders for tomorrow before and after the race... just to figure out if it fits (TTT is a bit of a mystery always anyway)

Ok, checked today with the points the riders got in the 15h Vuelta.

The numbers shown in the manual now are wrong for stages in a tour. There the ones written in that link to the very old version is correct. Please correct!

Prize money on TTT

Post by thxr » Fri Oct 21, 2022 10:44 am

Hello,
Just wanted to comment, are not TTT prizes a bit low?
In a non-TTT races, with same category and number of teams, are given almost 300.000 money between all riders, and in TTT not even 150.000

I moved this here, because you are right, ideally it should be mentioned in the Manual at least. (In fact, we need a completely new Manual.)

The user is right though, for some time I just rode those races because I was pretty sure to win them. Even with winning, you don't really earn much money, in fact having a good TTT team you need to pay a lot of salary too. Getting some 3-8th place there is absolutely a losing strategy

New Manual online.

Still lots of help needed:
  • Review and criticize the new manual.
  • Add chapters to the manual (for example something about Race Design would be nice).
  • Questions and Answers for an F.A.Q.
  • Ideas for a Newcomer-Tutorial, which is less 'reading' and more 'playing'.

in the FAQ:
there is this headline: What are the limitations for youth riders in terms of skills?
But the topic below that is not for limitation of youth riders but for riders in general

also riders doesnt retire when turning 35 but when turning 34

in the manual:

Hidden-Pavé-Skill * 0.7 + Flat-Skill * 0.3
this formula is wrong its
hiddenskill*0.3+flatskill*0.7

also for sprint would be nice if there is also mentioned that mountain/downhill skill effect the sprint, like it get mentioned for TT and Flat-Skill too
