Sprint Replay

Post by Bugatti » Tue Mar 18, 2025 1:09 pm

I know it's been brought up before, but is it possible to make the sprint replay slower? At the current speed it is impossible to see anything sensible.

Another question is, how is the sprint replay done?
Example: The riders have the position 400m and position 350m and simply ride the direct path from position 400m to position 350m in time X during the replay? (that's how it seems to me) It used to be a bit different in the past.

In the past, if a rider was blocked behind another rider, it was shown how he jumped back and then drove up again, then jumped back again. Now it looks like he just loses the backwheel and sprints a bit behind.
Or if there is a train, the rear driver first pulls out and then drives forwards. at the moment it looks as if he is simply running over the driver in front.

Maybe others have also noticed things and the question, maybe only Alk can answer this, is it possible to implement things again for the sprint?

At the moment it definitely is extremely difficult to follow what actually happened in the sprint. Riders moving a lot slower than they currently are would be very helpful.

I have the same impression as Bugatti. I guess it is just an interpolation between the state before and after the 50m interval. Therefore a slower sprint won't solve any of the issues, as being blocked and multiple lane changes cannot be seen with this kind of animation. I understand that it is hard to achive how the sprint in flash looked like and I also don't think it is a main priority at the time, but it would be nice to have a confirmation. (For me it doesn't matter for sprinting as I don't look at sprint replay during the sprint, but I learned that some do this).
