How to classify climbs

Could someone please explain how to classify climbs?

You can edit each km and then you have a little section on the right with a dropdown for the intermediates, including KOM classifications HC, 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Okay, sorry, I wasn't specific, how do I determine what category they belong to?

Ah, OK! For real races, you check what the category is in the real life race. For fantasy races, it is easy, it is your freedom to choose :)

Yes. In real races, it is mostly a combination of lenght of climb and steepness. Bigger races have rules on how to classify the hills. So if you design a fantasy stage race, you can think about a rule for your specific tour. In one day races, I usually choose what I want. Here sometimes even very short climbs can be high cat. The difference is, that here it is just a money bonus whereas in tours it should be somehow balanced for the mountain jersey

Okay, on a different note, what about gravel or dirt roads? There are only settings for asphalt and pavé as far as I know.
