Hi,
Warum ist Martin Garrix ein clone?
Ist der Künstlername, klar. Aber sollte doch okay sein.
Grüße
§ 2 Prohibited Names
(1) Nicknames, artist names (e.g. „Avicii“) or fantasy names (e.g. „Darth Vader“) are not allowed. Riders with such names will be made stateless.

Wenn du seinen originalen Namen verwendet hättest, wäre er durchgekommen.
Where do you draw the line here? There are lots of artists, who use slightly changed names (like the mentioned one), sometimes just for practical reasons, which still sound like normal names. Barely anybody then knows the real name. Not sure, if this is the goal of having the NC, which as far as I remember is mainly to have less rubbish names. Martin even has his Wikipedia page under this name.
Come on, everyone knows him under that name... And it sounds clearly normal!
The Name Garrix exist too, so where is the problem.
Can you please check it again?

If not, what solutions do we have? New name?
We will discuss it again.

After discussing the case again, we can't find a strong support to give Garrix a nationality, se he stays nationless.

Main reasons:
- it's an artist name, not his real one (see the rules)
- we couldn't find the name as a real name on different databases, just one person with this name in Thailand

Fernand Pelletier - Canada

https://www.veterans.gc.ca/en/remembran ... il/2214399

Pelletier: Nr. 28 of most canadian names (french based) https://forebears.io/canada/surnames

Fernand (french) shorty for Ferdinand, common use in Canada

Best regards

Thanks for explaining. I saw the message in the NC chat as well, so no need for further action in the forum. :)

Hi folks,

the Nations Committee needs a bit more support. If you want to help us, just write me a message :-)
