Re: Nationenkomitee / Nations Committee

Ok, I help you: His first name is Sandro, his family name Checa (and the other one). You mixed that. Re: Nationenkomitee / Nations Committee
I would like to formally complain about the change of nation from my rider "Carlo Smettino" from Italian to stateless.
As son of an Italian mother and Ukraine father born in Sicile he has the Italian passport!
If you don't believe that is a real name, just look here:
https://www.linkedin.com/in/sergio-smettino-a5672bb6
In addition I would like to complain that he useless names in bicycling context like "Donald Trump" are "Arya Stark" are not a problem.
Especially since "Arya" is not an English name:

You dont get it...
Here my answer for Arya Stark
Arya:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arya_(name) (In India, it is used as both a masculine and a feminine name)
Stark:
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graham_Stark
Unlike you, we check the names reasonably and then decide according to the rules
And here you can read the rules viewtopic.php?f=34&t=3207
Edit: likedin is not a verifiable basis for me
Re: Nationenkomitee / Nations Committee
Regarding Arya case...
It is interesting you want to prove your point with the same link I used for "Arya".
Interesting also it is not in line with the very same rules you referenced:
"§ 4:
(1) A rider’s name has to fit the given nationality."
You said it yourself, it is common in India but the choosen nationality is British.
Plus we all know it is mainly choosen with Games of Thrones background, so fantasy which is prohibited in §1 (2).
Well fine, so my next rider will be Cersei Lannister...this will make this game more "realistisic".
Ok let's go down the route and say "Arya Stark" is realistic because both names exist...and perhaps it is the daughter of Indian mother and English father...
Then you have make "Carlo Smettino" Italian.
Since Carlo is obv. an Italian name and Smettino is an Italian sounding name or real existing Ukraine name.
I was given the reference to LinkedIn because it shows that it is actually a real existing person.
In the rules is written a serious website might be provided.
Well LinkedIn is not a serious website for you? What is then, 9gag?
Not every name in the world is listed in wikipedia.

Re: Nationenkomitee / Nations Committee
Besides the fact that I haven't found anybody on Facebook with the family name Smettino, in my opinion, the name is okay according to the NC-Guidelines. As long as there's not an Italian native that tells me the name is offensive or plain stupid. Anyway, for me it sounds realistic.
Just three general things about the "other" discussion:
- There are a lot of Indian immigrants in the UK that are British citizens...
- First name usually is not that important as it's something that's given (hence given name) by your parents. And as long as you don't violate a law regarding that, they are totally free to name their child Arya (or Cersei), if they want. Even if they're from the UK.
- So in general, the name (the whole name, but as written, family name is way more crucial) has to either be realistic or sound realistic.
The latter is very subjective and in this case, Hunsrueck, who couldn't find the family name Smettino in his research, obviously deemed it not sounding realistic too. Why, I don't know, but that doesn't matter. So my conclusion would be: Give Smettino the nationality, as long as there is no valid argument that he shouldn't, and forget about the whole Arya Stark whataboutism.

Kraftsystemrevision! Include the distance!
Basics reform: Give blue a chance!
Don't punish bugusers. We all have to use bugs, since most of them are declared as "features"!
Got a carrot from FL. But they threaten to take it away now.

And what would that be for? For being obnoxious? Anyway, as I wrote in the ingame chat before, the NC is not the FC

Re: Nationenkomitee / Nations Committee
Can you just not present facts without a cheap shot...Idéfix wrote: ↑Sun Aug 12, 2018 6:29 pmHello,
Please give back French nationality to Bob Igny.
- We can find same French Bobs : https://www.prenoms.com/prenom/BOB.html
- Igny is a French name, the family d'Igny even gave its name to a city not far from Paris...
http://www.geneanet.org/genealogie/fr/igny.html
Really have again that NC is a bit arbitrary and did not check by easy and very accessible google search^^
Anyway, thanks for repairing that mistake and for giving him back his flag!
A) no problem with Bob.
B) D'Igny, as you write, is the family name, not Igny. Igny is indeed a towns name IF YOU GOOGLE IT!
So why is it totally arbitrary? Because the NC hasnt the time to check the history of every town in France you like to name your rider after? Flag is on the way from tomorrow on, you ungraceful and unpleasent human being.
Edith told me, the other sentence I deleted now was not okay.
I didn't mean to say it. But I meant what I said.

Hi Mister WauWau,Idéfix wrote: ↑Sun Aug 12, 2018 9:00 pmD'Igny is a family name AND Igny too (cf my link).
Anyway, thanks for the flag back!
I may be more pleasant if you do not unpleasantly remove flag without asking first for more proofs, if you don't have the time to check yourself.
If next time you ask : "Idé, I think your rider has a not OK name relatively to his nationality, could you bring any proofs otherwise I'll have to remove his flag?", I will be for sure more pleasant! Removing without asking is not "being correct" IMO, so if you are not "correct" with me, why should I with you in response?
^^
1. The national committee does not see directly which rider belongs to which team
2. Do you really believe we should personally contact the relevant team for every application
3. we already have enough to do with the whole new rider names
4. the system of rsf gives us limited possibilities to react and they are used by us
5. If you find this unfriendly, write to leso or luques to change it
6. what gives you the right to write in such a way and manner, maybe that's how it is with you, but not for me and my colleagues
Re: Nationenkomitee / Nations Committee
a) haven't found it then, and Bob Igny sounds more like an English name anyway.Idéfix wrote: ↑Sun Aug 12, 2018 9:00 pmD'Igny is a family name AND Igny too (cf my link).

b) we do not remove something "unpleasantly" but because we're either not sure or we thing it's not okay. AND give the user the opportunity to appeal correctly AND pleasantly.
c) I don't see whose rider it is at first hand. So the decision was made without knowing it was your rider. And can you imagine how much time it would cost looking at all the names that could be or could not be correct? Exactly... the ^^ you can shove up somewhere unpleasantly.
I didn't mean to say it. But I meant what I said.
