I have a new rider.

His new name should be Homobonus vonCremona from Italy.

I gues that is no problem?

Dont know how do you think about historical names.

I am not in the NC, but are you serious? Homobonus von Cremona is not his real name, it's his "artist" or his "holy" name :D

And btw. Homobonus von Cremona is how he is named in Germany. His Italian name is Omobono Tucenghi -> https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omobono_Tucenghi
I didn't mean to say it. But I meant what I said.

And Anna Kournikova is Anna Kurnikowa in Russia.

So Anna Kournikova would be not okay in our game?

Just ask for a friend 😉

And still waiting for an offical answer in the Homobonus vonCremona case

But if the name is not okay, thats no problem for me. I just asked before, because i do not want to have a rider without a nation

But you see the difference between different transcriptions from another alphabet and a translation in another language?

-> Anna Kurnikowa is А́нна Ку́рникова in Russia. What you are describing is the difference between the english and the german transcription for the Cyrillic alphabet.

Wrong it is Анна Курникова in Russian and Anna Kurnikowa is the German transcription while Anna Kournikova is the english transcription. I guess there is no clear ruling on what transcription you have to use (but that's just a wild guess).

About historic names, I guess noone can grant you absolution. But as FL proposed I would rather use the Italian name when he should be Italian citizen now. I use/used historic names quite often, but it is always a bit risky.

The current list of FL riders looks horrible. Around half of them with obvious wrong nationality (not existing, not realistic FL names). Just saying :).

Just explored some teams and found the rider "Udo Jürgens" who was trotteled just like a month ago. While I am more furious that I now cannot use this beautiful name myself, I wonder how anybody would come to the conclusion to trottel Udo?

I created a random name from the database Joaquim Eythórsdóttir from iceland and now he is unrealistic?!?!

So I can't assume that if I generate a random name by selecting the nationality beforehand, it will be accepted?

we noticed a problem with surnames of some countries that are specific to the sex of a person which i wasnt aware of when i composed the list... so for your example the dottir suffix means daughter but the first name is a male one ... there for its kinda unrealistic .. i personally would still accept it though coz of you using the feature and it wasnt your mistake and is not really a good look for the game in my eyes if you use a feature and then get punished for it

were working on fixing the list now but i still hope we can find a solution for your guy/girl :D idk if alk can alter the name maybe or we accept it as it is ..i would be in favor of it even though its a weird name if you know icelandic naming conventions

Any chance I get an answer on this.

I would really like to have my nationality back. Just give the driver a random female first name. That would be fine with me.
I hope Gipfel/Alk can do that in the database.

Can you just trottel him as a driver is not a cyclist! :P

And can the database please be adjusted so there are only male RIDERS possible? As written many times before, nothing against female cyclists, but this game (so far) is meant for riders that participate in races categorised for male riders. This is not an arcade game, this is for cycling freaks. Otherwise, we also don't need an NC, when realism regarding riders participation in these races doesn't matter anyway. It's one thing to give your riders female sounding names yourself, but the database should reflect the realism aspect. In my humble opinion.

the database should only have male names in it to begin with.. when i composed the list i tried to filter out all female first names ... if there are still some left its just an oversight
the biggest problem now is the female last names i wasnt aware of that lead to the bugatti problem
in the new version of the database all of them should be filtered out
if you have any examples of female first names from auto generated riders that slipped in tell me so i can remove them too

Whats up here? Can someone give her the frist name "Layana" and the nationality back in the database?
I asked Gipfel but he did not answer my message... Maybe Alk can do it?

sorry bugatti could only advocate for you and work on fixing the database so this problem wont occur anymore in the future
unfortunately its like you said that prolly only alk or gip can actually do anything to change the name

So what's the conclusion? Fix the name database and rename the rider?

i would say yes ..database should be fixed ..just finished it and post it in the other thread.. if you then could rename bugattis rider the problem should be gone and hopefully not appear again
