Club der Trainingsverweigerer

Post by Alkworld » Fri Nov 22, 2024 5:26 pm

Hi all!

Due to recent training "success" in Team Alkworld, we thought it's time to revive the infamous "Club der Trainingsverweigerer", which I think didn't make it to the "new" forum when we migrated from the old one ages ago. If I remember correctly, it was founded by (or for) Pius Spycher in 2006 or 2007. The rules to get in were strict, only when a rider continuously didn't train anything at all (no side skill, no downtraining, nothing), there was a chance to be accepted. Now the two Alkworld team captains wanna initiate this exclusive club again:
- William Golding already reached 27 training session without training anything (the last one was even downtraining only)
- GeorgeBernard Shaw is not that good, but also already reached 19 unsuccessful training sessions in a row

More candidates are welcome, minimum requirement is to have 16 consecutive training sessions without any training (neither up nor down)
And maybe someone has good idea for a new name of the club? I didn't find a proper translation until now.

I propose Max Villiger

Trained at 27-1 and next time at 31-4 thats 18 non trainings if i count right (was likely as he was simply covering most of his skills for a long time)

Habib Bourguiba

Never trained his second skill after he turned 22.
While he trained his main skill only 12 times.

This is not the club of riders training less than their manager wants them to, it's way more exclusive. We would be full of riders from Sauerland otherwise ;)

Hm not really restrictive this criteria. My A&D record holder should be;
26 Boaz Trakhtenbrot, no training in the period 26/4 - 33/1 (age/training session), very surprisingly as he is considered as a solid-good training guy reaching 87 climb (starting with 71) and 59 TT (starting with 54)
21 Alexandros Karatzoglou, no training in 27/1 - 32/4, sprint guy that at some point just covered all skills and wasn't training very good in total, nevertheless a very hill/money sprinter with 16 wins
21 Wilfried Nöbauer, PR winner, no training in 29/2-34/1

Others that would be in this club with this lame criteria: Jacob Wolfowitz (17), Geoffrey Hinton (17), Moustapha Faye (17)
Boaz Trakhtenbrot:
  • Winner Giro 2022
  • 10 GC wins
  • 16.609 Eternal Points

Well, those were the old criteria. Anyway, there aren't that many current members. From what I can see, AAD only has some alumni. 26 of course is pretty impressive! Congrats to that!
I remember from the old times that a potential record holder was a Cerro flat rider, Jochem Uytdehaage. However, he also had perfect skills for being a senior member here, high flat, everything else <= 50 and no need to cover those skills while having 0% probability

of my current team members Srikanth Kidambi is the record holder with nothing starting on 28-3 and first training afterwards at 33-1 with -1 downhill, so 18 in a row with 87 flat and 82 downhill in that period

ex riders:
21Chris Langridge (31 wins btw) nothing from 28-1 to 33-2 (including)
27Lenny Gregoire (first bought by Idefix, then picked up by me) nothing from 26-2 to 32-4

Well, was Gregoire on the transfer market during a Training day? If yes that would disqualify him imo

The rules regarding times on the TM are undefined until now, but those should be excluded, I guess.

Golding's first chance for downtraining and he takes it right away. So after a long streak of 28 non-trainings, he now joins the alumni and hands over the keys to the club room. But to whom? Shaw now reached 21 non-trainings, but there gotta be someone more "successful".
