I guess the App will take a long time?

Is there any chance to implement something so that we can do some settings for the Giro via mobile phone. A GT is always a big cut in the private life and at least for me it would help very much if i can do some the settings as it was possible with the old design.

Currently i can do the settings with the old design on iPhone but it is not saved so on the next km every setting made disappears.
Don't know how much work this would be, but it would really help me a lot.

Okay. The current state:

Samsung Galaxy S2: You will definitly be able to play via smartphone. I think tomorrow or friday you can download a BETA version.
Other androids: Not sure. Check if your handy support "adobe air".

iphone: Should not be a big problem. But i never tested it. So i don´t know when i can put it online. I don´t know if it is possible to install an app on ios without itunes?! I have to check this out. I don´t know how much time it cost to make it downloadble from the store.

I am 100% in favor of a mobile app to play RSF.
I just fear that it will help multi accounts to play with different IPs.
(an awful cheater) playing with his domestic internet connection with his PC and playing with another team using 3G internet connection with his smartphone.

Bah, and I wanted to create a second account with my Samsung with Boris as team manager. Couldn't you just be quiet about that option?

Besides that, I could use my mobile already for that, without an App.

Here a first BETA version of the app for android os:

http://www.cycling4freaks.com/radsport/rsf.apk

I will update it often, maybe daily. Please deinstall and download it again every day.

Know problems of the BETA:
- The app does not register if you are not logged in. So close your app completely and start again if you are offline since more than 10 minutes. Otherwise many things won´t work, although it seems to work.
- no facebook login
- only english
- display bug at the chat page
- Profil, Voting, Details and Points/Prices pages are not supported at the moment.
- The tutorial is not supported (so at the moment the app is of course for users who have already a team and have already played)
- The helps ( :?: ) are not supported until now

Other things should work if i did not miss something.

So i hope i will get much feedback. Thank you.

My mobile says that I have to install Adobe Air to use it.

did it, now it works.

First impression: It's very "unübersichtlich" :). Here my detailed first anaylsis (Part by part):

GENERAL:

- leave a gap to the right end of the screen. make an empty column or something like that.
- gaps between the rows are usually to big. make them smaller, will be much easier to read on the mobile screen.
- Options: Leave out Statistics, Race calender, Finances. Important parts are Inscription, Transfermarket (with k not with c), Training, Race and Chat. Ok, News is nice too and ok like it is. The rest is not needed for a mobile App, in my eyes. Thus I focus on these categories...

TRANSFERMARKET:

- no search function?
- where or how can i bid for or buy/sell a rider?

TRAINING:

- The Training info is very nice, and in a good size!
- Training itself is again to confusing. Too big letters, to big rows. Make it smaller.

CHAT:

- Nicy :)

INSCRIPTION:

- my most used word here: confusing! -> Abbrevations, only the most important info (Name, category, when). Everything else is not needed on the mobile App.
- very slow working... well, so far, it's not working at all

RACE:

Race tab:
- make the rider names and the team names smaller.
- Find good abbrevations for the skills (for the resp. languages or only in english). Things like "Flac" "Abfa" or "Spri" are not nice. Try "MT", "FL", "DH", "TT", "SP", "CS", "RG"
- When in the race window, I always get rider details when I try to scroll.
- Details rider view: make it smaller! It's huge, esp. the gaps between the rows
- Make tools under the rider name for hanging, etc.
- The results are not shown because the coloum is sorted by teams, even after the race is finished.

Tactic tab:
- Tactic window is also very confusing. Which tool is for which order?

Communication tab:
- nice small and handy. good

Statistics tab:
- same as in the race tab about rider and team names and abbrevations for skills.

Race info tab:
- rows are to huge, make the gaps smaller, make the rows smaller. At least 20 km should be possible to see on the screen without scrolling.

Others tab:
- Make it "Interviews", not "Others".

=> CONCLUSION

The design is too big in general. There is not much space on a mobile screen, make everything smaller so it fits better into the screen, especially letter size, rows, etc. Make the functions self explaining, so far the tactics tab in the race window is pretty unusable. Same for the inscription window. It just doesn't work, at least not when I tried it.

Make something to log out of or exit from this thingy... I can't so far without beeing back at the same screen when i left the App and it's still running in the background. And make the log in easier (PW saving, or similar). I have to enter my team name and PW everytime I start the App new. And make the log in work... :P

It's a Samsung Galaxy SII with standard settings. Android V. 2.3.4

DPI and resolution I don't know... as said, standard settings, if that helps.
