I don't think so. Think of the last 500m like of the last 10km and it's pretty much the same, just with different decisions to make. To me, an interactive sprint sounds like an excellent idea.

I have to agree with NicoVanarlo, but I also have to say two things:
1) Our sprint skills being as different as they are may also be a bit unrealistic. At the moment it's impossible for a 70 sprinter to win a sprint against a 95 sprinter, even if 70 sprints from 500m with support vs 95 from 50m without support.
2) Did I miss something? Did Buhmann already announce what he'll implement? How do you know by now that your hill sprinter (and others of course ) won't have a chance?

Place 7 is held by Fournier, another extraordinary rider, still 89-63 with 36 years and two sprinters Sancho Aguirresarobe and Dieter Matt

Place 10. with 15 victories is already crowded with 4 riders, two of them sprinters.


Don't want to interprete too much, I think these numbers speak for themselves.
