How about rider attributes that make one rider lose much more energy when it rains and the other nearly the same as if the weather were good? And without showing it in the riders profile. One has to discover it only by experience.

= with x Races on the rain ? With x races on 38° ? With x races on the wind 4-5 ?

Yes

But free to dicuss, of course

But I think not every info about a rider must be openely shown for everybody immediately

And we need a little more weather influence. It's boring when it always only changes the energy loss, regardless of if it's very hot or very rainy

That's true. But maybe that would make for the fact, that no rider has got any of his skills written on his head, so that everybody knows exactly what to expect in a sprint or in the mountains.

And it wouldn't last very long until the owner of a rider gets a clue about the preferred weather condidtions, if she/he observes thoroughly.

But however, than make it unhidden, if only the riders react differently to differerent conditions. The weather was not only made for crosswinds and their effects, wasn't it?

I think this thing already 'long (Thanks, Luna!)
I would but for that 'cyclists should be given a factor (Small) + or - depending on weather conditions.
climatic conditions could match the country of origin.
For example, a bit of rain in a race in Malaysia or Cuba would decrease the amount of energy!

i don't like the idea of "mystery-skills" that are there ,but not open to see for the owner of that rider...

but what i really would like, would be hidden skills or atributes, that are open to see for the owner, but invisible to all other managers

@Aux
Yes, to connect it with the nationality would be easy. Because hen it wouldn't even be neccessary to include a new value for each rider. And skull would know immediately what weather his riders prefer :D
But to be honest, in every nation there are riders that like or dislike rain, heat, cold, wind. Not every German is a Jens Voigt who's especially motivated when it rains. Not every Dutchman prefers strong winds etc..

In my opinion it could do so:
for each rider:
bonus minus -2 to +2 rain, extreme heat, snow (I've never seen by us), etc..
Extra bonus depending on country of origin from +1 to -1
Effect on the ability 'of the cyclist.

To me, a couple of more value would make the game more interesting.

@ Luna: You're right, but the habit of cold or heat helps.
Watch a tour of Rwanda, Malaysia or South America Vueltas, and you'll see that an Ecuadorian or a Moroccan, have an easy life compared to a Dutch or a Belgian ...although their value remains what it is!

But the Irish Men form Giant Asia permanently dominates the Asian Continental Tour ;)

But anyway. Let's hear what Buhmann says about this. If he's intereted we can continue with the discussion.

Bah, i´ve already answered. Don´t know what happened. maybe my ******* new internet.

Such skills are cool, give the riders more personality. But the difference from -2 till +2 is too big. You buy a rider, oh shit hates the heat, so you can´t win the tdf. Thats a little bit silly.

Ah fine, Buhmann finds it cool.

Ok. I wouldn't prefer to alter the skills by some points + or -. I suggest to make the riders lose less energy in one of the possible extreme weather conditions. So that they ride as if it were "normal "weather (whatever that means), while the others suffer from the beginning to the end by the heat or the rain or the wind.

I like Luna's idea to just adjust the energy consumption, not the skills. (this returns us to the discussion about leaders keeping 1000 energy when helped)

But I don't think this skill should be hidden. If I know my opponent is weak in the current conditions, I will try to make the race very hard.

I also oppose linking it with the nationality. I want to choose the nationality freely, not according to the races the rider should win.

I like Ahab's idea of only showing the weather preferation to the rider's owner, but not to the public. Let's get surprised by one or another rider. From time to time the community will get to know some riders. I guess, that could lead to interesting races (not everything so foreseeable) and/or rider reputations.

I was thinking of values visible to purchase. and more or less equivalent (for example, if +2 with 30 + high heat, dann -1 with rain -1 with a cold).
more value +1 0 (zero) or -1 from country of origin

Once purchased the value only visible to the owner of the rider.

Of course, the value should affect the price and salary!

Buh @: +2 to -2 is not too much.
a lot more games added values for Atmospheric conditzioni more!

For sure ! but not how you say ! they are all "human beings", their temperature is 37 for all (if this is exact^^), And if the temperature changes, that change for everybody !!!
Sure they would prfer the europe sun than the hot desert or the could mountain ; A russian for example will not say no for the europe sun and will prefer the cold russian weather and that will not influence his skills ! We can't say he will be strong in Russia than Spain (for example)
if it's difficult it's difficult for all , and this depend of the rhythm of the race !

difficult for all is ok.

I give you an extreme example:looking Michael Schumacher, turns with rain 4-5 second fast pro round as other driver with the same motor power!
this is a driver ability, this is another thing.
I DON´T speak of fatigue, but Ability.May be cost the same (may be, it isn´t for sure), but the driver haven´t the same result with different climatic conditions.

Let's get away from changing the pure skills by weather.
Imagine a race, that starts with 40°. The riders that hate the heat would have -2 or so. 20km form the finish there is a thunderstorm and after it the temperature goes down to 30°. Than immediately the heat-haters would be backl to normal skills and the whole effect would vanish.
But if they simply had lost more energy during the first hot 180km, the would still have that disadvantage of less power left, regardless of how the weather develops in the later race. That's how it should be. They still are tortured by the hot condition during most parts of the race.

I think, there could be another property of a rider, that names the preferred weather, only visible for the owner. There would stand "heat" or "rain" or "cold" or "dry" or something like that. Maybe even a preferred range of temperatures. If it gets colder or warmer than the energyloss per km would be higher than normal.

Watching the Tour, I see that some cyclists lose contact because of bad weather ... what 'stage despite not being covered too quickly.
Why 'do not even the heavy rain that we face a bit''of selection?
