Post by team fl » Mon Apr 27, 2015 1:49 pm

Looks like before the afternoon Giro, Team FL will ride the morning Romandie. The following riders will get up early as well:

x1 Paul Betancourt
x2 Elvis Bogdanic
x3 Valentin Bratoev
x4 Martin Hrast
x5 Fran Peterlin
x6 Robertlandy Simon
x7 Carlos Tejeda
x8 Alain Yoda
x9 Barton Zwiebach

Goal: Try to forget the spring classics 2015 as soon as possible.
I didn't mean to say it. But I meant what I said.

Stage 1 over, the TTT: Huge win for Suessem. Lasar already with a 46 seconds advantage in front of the next team's rider, 56 secs in front of Herklotz, the best climber in this group. Speaking of best, let's do the favorite check, without Hund of course, because otherwise see Alkworld recent posting:

General classement:

***** Misch Lazar (Team Suessem)
**** Maximilian Herklotz (Mapei)
*** Jeff Talley (CircleCycle), Paul Betancourt (Team FL), Raphael Bernard (Mapei)
** Moses Maimonides (Alkworld), Fran Peterlin (Team FL)
* Francisco Goya (Alkworld), Frederic Bungo (Trachtenberge), Cyrus Sadri (Haudegen)

Points classement:

*** Fran Peterlin (Team FL)
** Moses Maimonides (Alkworld)
* a surprise rider

Mountain classement:

*** the one who wants it
** another rider
* a surprise rider

Youth classement:

*** Jeff Talley (CircleCycle)
** Raphael Bernard (Mapei)
* Cyrus Sadri (Haudegen)

Team classement:

*** Alkworld
** Team FL
* Mapei

This promises to be fun judging on how stage 1 starts.
Kraftsystemrevision! Include the distance!
Basics reform: Give blue a chance!
Don't punish bugusers. We all have to use bugs, since most of them are declared as "features"!

Very interesting second stage with a well known winner, wuff! So again it was Friedrich Hund from Dead And Alive with the exclamation mark he has set so many times already during his still young career. On second place, we have Giuseppe Bottazzi, now leader of the mountain classement. On third place, we have, weeee, Fran Peterlin, who could have won the stage. But Hugo Marxer decided to prioritize the fight in the GC. And so there was a nice cooperation betwen Alkworld and Team FL to distance the other team's climbers, which work pretty well. So we have the following classement of the tour's favorites:

01. 00:00 Friedrich Hund (!) (Dead and Alive)
03. 01:48 Werner Heiseberg (Dead And Alive)
04. 01:52 Misch Lasar (Team Suessem)
05. 01:55 Fran Peterlin (Team FL)
08. 02:12 Moses Maismonides (Alkworld)
11. 02:47 Maximilian Herzklotz (Mapei)
12. 02:48 Raphael Bernard (Mapei)
13. 02:50 Cyrus Sadri (Haudegen)
14. 02:50 Eli Fincher (Haudegen)
15. 03:06 Jeff Talley (CircleCycle)
16. 03:06 Paul Betancourt (Team FL)
17. 03:22 Francisco Goya (Alkworld)
18. 03:30 Frederic Bungo (Trachenberge)

So after stage 2, Misch Lasar has still a little advantage left from the TTT against Peterlin and Maismonides. The upcoming two stages might change that in favour of the latter two, but the question is, if it is enough until Saturday and Sunday, that await with a mountain stage (little advantage Lasar) and an ITT (clear advantage Lasar). Maybe even others may join the GC fight? A group? another climber? hard to tell. But Alkworld and Team FL could have the momentum and the teams to make it at least more interesting than in what the TTT resulted. And as usual, in the end, only one can win.

Same procedure as yesterday at Romandie 9h, stage 3. Climbers distanced by Alkworld and FL with Heisenberg from Dead And Alive in the wake of them. In the end Peterlin wins the stage, Heisenberg gets yellow and Alkworld has practically won the team classment with Maimonides in a good position, as well as Team FL's Peterlin who wears the green jersey by now. So, the updated classement with the GC favorites (well, some not that much anymore:

01. 00:00 Werner Heisenberg (Dead And Alive)
02. 00:01 Fran Peterlin (Team FL)
03. 00:22 Moses Maimonides (Alkworld)
05. 03:00 Maximilian Herklotz (Mapei)
06. 03:01 Cyrus Sadri (Haudegen)
08. 05:42 Misch Lasar (Team Suessem)
09. 07:20 Frederic Bungo (Trachenberge)
11. 08:49 Jeff Talley (CircleCycle)

Rest is not even worth mentioning anymore.

Although it's narrowed down quite far, it still looks very interesting. The big question now is how much time Moses can gain on Peterlin on Saturday. For Heisenberg form will matter most. With 100 he may gain some time on Fran, but I don't think it would be enough. On Sunday, Fran should gain something around a minute on the other two. But anyway, Saturday's stage is not the simple and predictable "_____/", but a little more complicated. So let's see what'll happen.

Looks deciced for me: Podium will look like:
1) Frank Peterling
2) Moses Maimonides
3) Werner Heisenberg
Boaz Trakhtenbrot:
  • Winner Giro 2022
  • 10 GC wins
  • 16.609 Eternal Points

And it does. In the end, it was clearer than I thought before the stage on Saturaday. But again I should trust my riders more than I usually do. Or my experience is tricking me. Anyway, this is a nice rehabilitation from the spring classics for Fran and a good preparation for the Giro. Thanks a lot for the nice tour and GW to all winners.
