Oman 21h

Post by Radunion » Mon Feb 11, 2013 9:03 pm

We will come with a very expensive team formed around Richard Dedekind and Hermann Minkowski. The main target are stage victories and good overall results. It will be very different to gain time on the climbers to have a chance for overall victory but we will try if there is a possibility.

line-up:

1 Pawel Alexandrow - the monster
2 Hermann Minkowski - looking for chances to gain time on the climbers
3 Richard Dedekind - should get his chances
4 Pawel Urysohn - a really nice helper
5 Beppo Levi - the oldest rider in the team is still strong enough
6 Johan Jensen - the best helper in the team
7 Marshall Stone - and his backup
8 Gaston Floquet - the workhorse

The first stage ended with a pleasant surprise for our team. Until 10 km to the finish line everything worked as planned for the sprinter teams. A group was controlled easily. Christian Töppler (Ruhrradler) won the only mountain classification out of the group and will wear red tomorrow and Nani Bertal (pepperefm) gained enough bonus seconds to wear white. At the 10 km line LibertySeguros ignited the race with an attack on a small hill (+2). 20 riders could gain a small advantage on the pack. Despite the hard work of the sprinter teams behind the group proved too strong for them securing an advantage of just 1 second in the end. Beppo Levi won the sprint when he surprised everybody else with an early sprint.

Beppo was very happy with his 2nd career win. Unfortunately for him there was no time for a party as there are some hard days left for the team.

The race will be very likely decided at the mountain top finish at the end of stage 4. So DagurSnaer Valtysson (LibertySeguros) is the fop favo for the tour. The very steed ramps leaves little chances for the weaker climbers. So all his team has to do is to prevent time losses in the rest of the tour.
