What a first stage. Fast from the first km, lots of complaining, chase for more than 100 km and a real winner 8-).

Only one (or two) thing to sum it up: Samurais of course again completely wrong. It was not the right backwheel that decided the sprint. It was JPS' very bad sprint. And of course everybody has the chance to win, it is just very very... very... small. Your tempo was still questionable, although the result might tell you something different. In this special case, I even thank you for that :). Questionable are also your fairness comments for Warriors and GlamourSpeed. They could not catch the group in the front exactly because they did not try everything! Not because you (the group) was too strong...

Anyway, tomorrow is a new day. Pink of course will not chase groups with non-GC-dangerous riders, especially because Ryder might get the leader's jersey in a sprint. Besides that, hard to tell who is GC-overall-favorite. Mjölnir (or Aurnion, whoever Demuth rides for), Dulac, Jacotey have good chances, but now also Garrido or Bass, to say classic riders with good sprint. We will see. But first, see you tomorrow.

@JPS: This was the poetic justice for Ryders stage win down under agains Dürr ;)

Second stage, Garrido still in Pink. But one mistake: Dürr should have been on Kögerl's Backwheel instead of Ryder's. But the plan was not to let Ryder win and get Bonussecs. Well, could also have been the stage for Dürr.

Have no plan yet for tomorrow, but it will come anyway. Till then.

Unfortunately Ryder was sprinting from 50m one day too early. Maybe we shouldn't have told JPS yesterday to make his own sprint train ;-) Tomorrow should be Ryder's stage then, he should have little trouble winning that *buildinguppressure*

you Dürr copycat! :D

I am really really suprised Garrido still has his leader's jersey. Perhaps more to write later. Now I need some Baldrian drops.

Stage tomorrow another chance for Ryder for a second place?

4 of 5 stages done, the Zieges join the forum conversation. ;)

Today another chance for a hillsprint for JPS's Ryder and my Fromlo-guy. 40 km before the finish line we had two km's of 7 and 9 inclination to seperate from the sprinters. This worked, but of course there were others like Alkworld and ByZickl trying to get away from the hillsprinters on these kms.

The +9 km brought surprising results to me: for my team Fromlowitz was still in front along with Jacotey and Castillejo. Ryder and Mbele from JPS were in the back 20 sec behind the first group. Dulac in front. So, here starts my confusion. Alkworld is riding in front, JPS riding behind. Pretty tough for me to manage a sprint for Fromlowitz in the front group. Vargas and others still fit. But it doesn't seem like the second group can come back with the margin growing second by second. So in my confusion (and with a slow site on my laptop) I wait and see what happens. What happens is the following: Alk attacks, Jacotey and Castillejo still in front, Fromlo behind. Ok, still not too bad. Solo and Bordeaux now help JPS behind, but a sprint is pretty unlikely already. In front Alk and ByZickl riding.

A Castillejo attack is countered by Vargas who finally ends up winning the race with an attack of his own. Jacotey ends up 4th behind Burlacu and Dulac, one sec behind the winner.

Hm... maybe we should have had all our guys fall back right after the mountain (incl. Jacotey + Dulac)? I don't know. It's still tough to get them I think. Like this there was still the chance for our guys in front to come through. Well, didn't work out. Congrats Alk!

JPS was right yesterday about not feeling well when seeing Pancho in the group leaning back. Once again this was possible only because there was such a big fight for the mountain jersey, while stages and the GC are given away fairly easy ;-) But also chasing the group too hard was maybe not such a good idea, Fjodor was used too early. That a stage win was possible afterwards was pretty clear, with or without FL, the only difference without FL was that also the GC was available then.
Vargas 2nd attack was pretty stupid then, didn't really think of losing Madero there and was hoping to get rid of more other riders. But Vargas was still strong and got that lucky win :-) Today it should still be a little open on +3%, with sprint luck everything's possible, but I hope for some traffic on Ryder's wheel. I'm somehow sensing that this is Dürr's day.

Nice tour it was! GW again for all winners. Thanks to the rest for the entertainment.

As I wrote in the Interview for the first stage, it was the seconde middle hard stage that decided the tour. And Vargas is a worthy winner, as well as Alkworld. I sill think it was the right decision not to have offline settings (e.g. hanging on Vargas with Garrido), although it would have saved my butt. But(t) in the end it would have been just another entry in the palmares without having done much for it, mostly because being very lucky in the first stage's sprint.

Just one thing I don't understand. Why has JPS stopped tempo when I came back? Ok, it was my duty, but in the end it could have been Ryder winning the overall GC... Anyway, besides some fancy debating about tempo from who or not, I liked it.
