Paris-Nîmes

Hello everybody. To start with I have to say that I am kinda shocked that nobody by now has made a thread for this great race aswell as for Tirreno - Adriatico. Allright, then Lizard gonna start.

Team:

Image Philippe Laviniere 81-59-66-53-56, 50 Reg:
The press calls him "The Emperor of the Alps", because he´s one of the great hopes for the French climber´s fans. He will be the overall captain of the team.

Image Bastiaan Beijssens 49-70-82-56-52, 36 Reg:
Since we need to look at least somewhere to pay not too much salary Adam will not start in this tour. But he´ll surely try to get a stage win this month, aswell as he did the last ten. Beijssens will be one of the two cheap helpers.

Image Joost Berkefeldt 46-74-69-46-57, 38 Reg:
Joost is the second cheap helper. This guy is pretty clever, in his early career he could achieve victories in regional small races. He will get his chances to try make it into a breakaway.

Image Basil Broucek 73-81-77-50-43, 41 Reg:
Basil will be one of the two main helpers for Philippe and aswell goal getters for stage wins.

Image André Katchono 50-88-58-52-52, 50 Reg:
Since Jan will need support for flat stages and we see the Green Jersey as a possible objective he will be the most important help for him. André will open the doors for success.

Image Clement LaCroix 55-81-73-53-55, 52 Reg:
Of course, for one of the most important races for the Lizards the local hero needs to start. The superb young flat and pavé super-helper will participate aswell. Let´s just say we will surely see him in front of the camera somewhen in the tour.

Image Ndale Mbeki 55-73-73-52-56, 62 Reg:
This guy is a what we germans call "Prolet". But nevertheless, looks can say different than what´s real. Ndale is a huge, strong-looking young rider with a golden heart and a feeling for competition. This is his first huge race and he will be an everyday-attacker. He wants to show his talent right here - right now!

Image Jan Vermaart 49-86-79-51-67, 38 Reg:
He is our captain for flat stages and going for the points´ classement.

Image Kato Wolfsong 74-78-52-47-55, 37 Reg:
Kato, our cameroon classic-never-want-to-winner, trainingslucker and downhill-o-phobic is our second stage-getter. He and Basil have already been a good combination in the past, since they achieved the win at christmas last year.

Anybody else participating? Surely Mr. Klebt? Or Tirreno-Adriatico? How about the french climber star Mandelbrot? Maybe some sprinters aswell? Reactions, opinions...

Benoit really would like to start here too, but on the one hand 15 will be unpossible for the next months and on the other hand the team decided to start at T-A but the french guys in the team don't really like this decision :D

At the moment I've got time during the day. Maybe I start also on 15h. I don't know exactly if 15h or evening, have to check it.

EDIT: No 15h for me, evening is more comfortable for me :)

Favourite´s checklist

Leader´s Jersey:

***** Erik Holgersson, Keyser Söze
*** Carlton Myers
+ Wheel Zefren

This is a weak field, and I guess the yellow jersey will go to either Erik or Keyser. I think the time Myers has won today can easily be taken back by the stronger climbers.

Point´s Jersey:

*****
*** Matej Mamic, Sebastien Gerard, 85+ Climbers
*

I am not quite sure with this one. It really depends on how the finale´s will be ridden. Classic riders aswell as climbers might win this classement.

Climber´s Jersey:

***** Who wants it, gets it
*** Climbers, classic riders
*

Who really wants the jersey will get himself the jersey.

Young rider´s classement:

***** Carlton Myers
*** Philippe Laviniere
*

Only two competetants are there, a young Huber and a french climber. Both have their chances, but Myers a climbing helper. This might be the key.

nice overview. And of course Keyser is a favorite! he always is!

When i checked the results yesterday in the evening (was at a birthday party), i was a little surprised because i didn't look at the joining teams before. it will be hard for Keyser to challenge Holgersson. And don't forget Ensslin. For Meyers it will be very difficult, but not impossible. Nevertheless, hope it will be a nice and competitive tour.

And I did realise that we have two sprintteams in the peloton. so, I wonder what happens at the second stage today :)

Okay, so for me was an interesting stage the whole time. We have a very friendly field here at the afternoon. So, since I have my stage plans will be changed I guess. Laviniere going for White still what I´d like to force. Even though no plan how to get rid of Myers. Tomorrow will be one of the best stages I guess - and just to make sure: Tomorrow Lizard´s can take part in the work.

Jep, tomorrow will be very interesting. I just hope that almost everybody will be online. it's not against the rules, but for all the others it's very annoying not to know about those who stay offline till the last kilometers without saying a word and beeing a stage favorite. just a word in the chat. that's all. would make things much easier for everybody. of course not for evil tactics, but i hope not that such things are planned by people in our tour.

3 stages and 3 times podium for Gerard... that´s what I call constant riding. Well today I guess Keyser Söze will have his chances aswell as again a Gerolsteiner-rider. Just in terms of equality I hope FL gets it, very active, many attacks... my plans for today not finished yet, but I guess I´ll be a partial time spectator...

Söze made it! I knew the kebap in the morning will do it :)

But what happened to Myers and Zackenbühli? Very mysterious. Rumour has it, that Gerolsteiner called his brother one km before... Anyway, Gerard now one of the main candidates to win the tour, although it will be very difficult against a strong team Allrad. What will be an object of desire ist the mountains jersey. not yet clear held or defended by one paricular team, this is still one goal you could reach for...

Okay, today one of the most interesting groups I´ve seen so far. Red still interesting, let´s see what Aerts is able to do the next two days. We have pretty many possible winners for Red aswell as Yellow, where the last word´s not spoken so far.

Thanks for the cool tour. I expected a nice fight for every jersey and it was a good, friendly peloton this time. Congrats to the winners.
