it´s the giro, so it´s no problem to kill 2-4 riders for 1 stage. i know, that wesley and co will have a lot of problems the next 3 days, perhaps the besenwagen catch them. but if i have the choice between 1 stage or a fit team, i would take the stage, also if i lose 3 riders the next 3 days.

so come on fl, fight for the stage today! i like that non pussy riding.

Mmh, it has some advantages over last year though. Last year IMO wasn't THE supercool Giro either. Last year finally with us sprinters in th flat, Wizard-Recien (and others?) in the middle mountains the race was pretty much blocked for escapes until the last 3 days or so.... Peio Terme and Mortirolo were the 2 only ones when an escape won in the end, the rest was decided in the final km of the race. So more open stages so far, which is not bad too.

Today: As Allagen confirms, he wants the sprint, for his Putz it's the best in the end. Get him to admit that and ride for it and you won't have big problems.

Yes, that was a LCB initiative mostly though... I don't have the time and energy to calculate all the special classifications too. If you have, go for it...

Go to the Giro homepage and you'll find them all there, somewhere.

Ah, but since you're here... when all classic riders except Heuser and Qian were dropped, why didn't you ride with HEuser or with Rondeau since it was a downhill? Follow Qian with Schrödinger? Or even if Qian doesn't go, just ride to drop the red boys who were chasing in the back? Putz away for red, Björnby away for BW, Owl and everybody except the ape naked... why not ride, then either hope for a Qian attack, or go with Heuser and hope Qian is following (with Schrödinger on Qian (and Fahrny on Schrödinger hoping Heuser weakened enough for him to follow.. haha!) Ok, most likely no Fahrny, so Qian just there for money.. .but you could have gained some time and some points to your opponents for all those jerseys you wear

yeah i though of this too! really and I started, not really convinced but I started, made the +6 with heuser yeah stupid, should have been Rondeau, much faster and then the gap was just too less, the downhill not steep enough for Rondeau and not flat enough for Heuser and in the back owl and Bw in tempo with much better riders for this downhill. wasnt enough to go till the last 5km (could be wrong here but with the mistake on the +6 no chance), than i was just confused, didnt know what to do, +Bw had Maga in front to block the last 5 km were a weakened Heuser cannot attack, all in all i think not that much to win there, just stupid for me that bw blocks the 6 so Putz just losses back the 2 points he made on the flat stage before. Tought about riding there alone woth schrödinger too, with the attacke before from putz schrödinger might be able to drop putz? But 1) no garantee he droppes and 2) even if no garantee schrödinger gets any point or more than 2 points in the big group. so 2 seconds. and everybody sees the form difference between Girard and Erdemann that can be interessting in the following 3 stages

Kam ein Mann nach Liechtenkiesel,
tankte immer gerne Diesel.
Kam ne Frau nach Liechtenstein,
kaufte immer gerne ein.
Beide lernten sich dort kennen,
und dann mußte sie schon rennen.
Sie sahen den FL
und verschwanden schnell.

Nice poem, 8 verses.

PS könnte passieren dass ich morgen die erste stunde off bin, kann auch passieren dass ich gar nicht rechtzeitig kommen, oder kann auch passieren dass ich noch einen sitter finde. Wie auch immer ich rechne mal nicht großartig damit.

Good stage, actually I should be happy.. I'm not really though.. wanted the stage...

Attack, the ape didn't want to escape, then thought, well, why not. Wei doesn't need a babysitter (Todea was planned) today, let's go. Worked fairly well, noir out too often, even though the energysaving is absolutely minimal when we ride green... just ride. easier. Then Schmalzbrot goes... clear, next Nipp goes, Urganov and Stockdale follow, as everybody expected I think. Surprised that Putz went too, I would have gone without him, gain more in the mountain, ride the mountain with Schmalzbrot in front and it should be no problem. And then you really expose BWs weakness in the flat, Björnby 76, Magallon 75. Ok, he would have had Heuser helping.. or he rides the Iselsberg with his 61 like he did, but then the gap would have been more than 2' on top... closer to 4' then to 2' I think. Plus he would have had Putz fit for sure tomorrow, not sure he is now actually, despite his big reg. Schmalzbrot alone, yes, he would have lost more time, if it's the slow version, then he loses more than a minute I think. If it's the fast version, probably the gap in the end isn't much different, but Mathe and BW clearly weakened tomorrow. A middle version, up and down with Potts, but then having the Owl and FL still there like now to help, maybe the best in the back. Actually not sure why BW didn't do that anyway. But be it as it may, good time gain for the 3 in front, even though I think no Putz would have been nicer.

Then, stage... Urganov wants the stage, of course... Was right to suck the wheels a bit, after all both Nipp and Stockdale have 60 TT. so in the end they profit more for the GC. AND they have more sprint, more for the stage too. If Urganov had the same 5x sprint, ok, easy, I collaborate 100%. Even like this in the end I helped more than I sucked... End fucked it up though. Seemed a good idea at the time. Attack, I thought I gain one second or so, had more energy, yes, but not that much I thought. Then caught in the next km and sprint at 500, with me ahead unlikely they will follow me... then 2", mmh, maybe i can do it? So put in the second attack, just in case and the sprint at 500... probably the second attack killed me... energywise not good for tomorrow of course, plus the missing energy probably the stage too, or that and luck or something.. bah. really hoped to get it. But no, for the second time in it's history the west won Austria... even though the east had Bananas this time around. Grrr. No attack at all, just afraid then they are in my wheel for the win... Nipp IMO the stronger of the 2, more downhill, -1, had helpers, ok, he rode a bit more, still, not much changes. So in his place I just follow me. then he gets +4,7 bonus roughly, he's at 59 or so, Stockdale 60 roughly 60, that's still in the pure luck department. Go at 50 both, roughly the same. Actually as Stockdale would have followed me too, since he and Nipp were so similar. So attack ok, the second one... no, really should have saved those 20-30 energythingies for the sprint.

Still should be happy, in the back worked perfectly for me, Fahrny follows Watson, Corvia doesn't fight loses stupid 6", Schrödinger can't follow, loses 17", more importantly the 88 don't win anything. So. 1'11" gained with Urganov, 0 lost with Fahrny, excellent! Still... I need that damn stage win!

GC, nothing much changes, Stockdale and Nipp make a comeback though, Urganov too, Wizard and Ape now back with 2 outsiders. Favorite still the same. Schrödinger loser of the day, but just 17".. so not that bad.. he will have 2 hard days now, ok 3 with Nevegal, but then until Finestre it's actually Schrödinger terrain... even Finestre with the easy Sestrière maybe. But in principle still Erdemann in control, with Girard and Schrödinger the most likely contenders. Just the 3 winners of the day came closer, giving more options to Wizard and the ape.

Tomorrow... will be interesting for sure. Let's see how it works out.

Ah, white, now there Nipp back in the chase too, Fahrny gains time on Arvid (who didn't follow me, he really should have, even told him too) but Nipp only a minute back with reg and TT, especially now with Urganov kind of back in an outsider position, if he really wants it, he can probably have it, still no intention of actively riding for white for the moment. Keep an eye on it, sure, more for the moment, no.

Ok, no Putz, just Nipp, (with help from Urganov and Stockdale, there of course I would have ridden) 4' is a bit optimistic of course... but over 3', even if slighly, not. And Schmalzbrot alone then doesn't lose that much more IMO.

Anyway, good day, except no stage win.
