Could have gone into groups on many occasions, but somehow didn't mind winning such big races out of an early escape group just because noone in the peloton feels responsible.
oh, bad english. wanted to express my dislike of getting my result out of a lucky early breakaway in a monument. used the term "don't mind" wronlgy.

they are frightened because there's still nearly the complete peloton behind them, immediately closing every gap only because it is there.

@NoPik
I still have the feeling that the riding in rsf (at least on those classics) somehow evolved since last year. I remember that last year in the final 10 or 20 kms there were often only 1, maximum 2 riders per team, and it was everybody for his own chances.
Perhaps I'm just wrong because one year ago I didnt have much experience and could'nt understand everything what was going on. (At least I won one classic back then with the fabulous roko keko grr...)
This year i have the impression that everybody wanted to keep 3 or 4 riders until the last 5 kms and then see what happens.
But I would consider a max of 2 riders per team in the finale the better race. Or is this what you mean?

yes that's what I meant ;) Keeping 4 riders in the finale is not really cool. But really everybody was always bringing back the whole bunch after a sieb.

About siebing with the captains, yes I thought of that too. I never did it and maybe that's the reason why there were always so many riders in front. But "killing" my captain ? I didnt really want to...
Perhaps this attitude is different compared to last year... I can't be sure, maybe you guys have an opinion.

The problem is that almost everybody thinks that one single km tempo kills the captain.

The problem is that in RSF it does.

Not one single KM, but having 50-70 less energy can decide a race...unfortunately
