10th Victory in 2010

Jostein Strevsom won todays race Tour de Vaud. The teams TT Sports, Team Franconia and BSE Marzahn controlled the pace all the time and so it came to a bunch sprint. Jostein Strevsom was the lucky guy with the good legs this day. He won the race, Achille Varzi (TT Sports) became 2nd and the World Champion Brian Anderson (Team Franconia) had to admit defeat as 3rd.

Failed. This was not royal!

At todays World Championship the manager of BSE Marzahn managed Team USA with World Champion Brian Anderson. And nearly the whole race everything seemed to be under control. An early group (with four riders from France) was controlled easily and catched 10 or 15 km before the finish line. Together with Team Germany Team USA made tempo to block further attacks. But 4 km before finish line a group of 4 strong flat riders escaped. They gained one second at the escape kilometre and another one one km later. These two seconds were too much, even for Anthony Black. To make this failure a big one, Brian Anderson won the bunch sprint of the chasing main field.
There will now be ever this blemish in our history how these four riders can escape so short from the finish line. My apology to Brian Anderson and his manager.

The sprinters all looked at each other and so it became a 50m sprint, where Johannson had the best legs and won the stage and with it the green jersey. So we (over)achieved our goals with now two stage wins and, what was our first goal, the green jersey.

It was a good teamwork of the sprinterteams and so the race became quite easy, much easier then thought before. An early group of three riders got 16:30 min, but was always under control. So it came to an bunch sprint, where Johannson had the best wheel and the best legs and won.

Logi ends carreer with 6th place at Ronde van Vlaanderen

At km 80 Logi Geirsson attacked as first rider of the peloton, followed one km later by Stefan Baumer (Kandoo-Riders) and another km later by two riders of Team AGHN, which later fall back, so that Logi and Baumer were alone in front. And they got a gap of nearly 23 minutes before the peloton started the chase. Ca. 8 km before the finish line they were catched by another group of 4 riders, which escaped at the Muur. But they managed to arrive the finish line with that group and so they became 5th (Baumer) and 6th (Geirsson). This 182 km escape was a great ending of Logis carreer, but unfortunatly it was in group 2.
