Geoffrey joins 15 Wins Club
Next milestone for the 34 year old Geoffrey Hinton. He collected his 15th win at todays one day race at Altmuehl Trophy in Germany. He is now the youngest and fastest sprinter to achieve this goal overtaking our first year money sprinter Alexandros Karatzoglou and leading now in nearly all categories. Let's see what comes next for Geoffrey.

Re: Schrödinger's Dogs: A&D
Transfers
Erich Tschermak left the team at the age of 30, so he will be the first A&D rider in a while to probably end his career on the transfer market. He was part of our mass but no class 2022 classic armada to support Tesla. In his very last race today, he contributed to a win for Heinrich Heuser. He never was the go-to guy and never won anything due to his bad sprint and low flat. He was the first one in tempo in the final phase. His training was average, we hoped for more flat. Thanks and hopefully someone gives him a chance and buys him.
Erich Tschermak, 30
118 races, 1.811 points
Starting: 55-73-77-56-46-64,9 44reg
Peak: 71-77-78
We finally managed to get a new classic talent for next year. The 20 year old Karl Prachar will support the team from November on. He is a very talented rider and hopefully a 2023 classic leader.
Karl Prachar, 20
Bought: 56-72-75-56-64-65.4 46reg
Goal: 70-80-75 with 65 sprint

Re: Schrödinger's Dogs: A&D
October 2022
Our team reaching 9.014 points in 26 races in October winning 9 races (4x Hinton, 2x Tesla, 2x Heuser, Srivastav), most important win was Tesla's win at Giro dell Emilia, 2x second place at a classic (Heuser at Giro dell Emilia, Hinton at Piemonte). No stage race ridden this month. Just not enough time due to moving the A&D headquarters form the 14th to the 17th district of Vienna. Unfortunately, as Faye and Fall were planned as leaders for the Tour de Paves and our team had some small chances for stages there. A lot of interesting races (for Tesla), our team dropped due to beeing offline the whole race. So we are quite happy with our win rate.
Tesla vs. Hinton
Usually there is no doubt, that Tesla is rider of the month with a win at Emilia and no major achievment reached, but Hinton showed late career form and won quite a lot of races in way stronger sprinter groups. He got his 15th win and 5k points this season. So our rider of the month October is: Geoffrey Hinton.

Erich Tschermak left the team, and a new classic talent from Austria: Karl Prachar joined the team today. See details in earlier post.

Nikola joins 10 wins club
Nikola Tesla won todays one day race in India from a 2 men train with Moustapha Faye and achieved his 10th win. He is just half a year older than Boaz when he got his 10th win, but needed 123 races for it. He is our 3rd sprinter in the 10 wins club, but they all are different sprinter types Karatzoglou (hill sprinter), Hinton (flat sprinter), and Tesla (classics sprinter). Tesla is the youngest and fastest sprinter reaching the 10 wins club.
10 wins club
Franz Schwackhöfer, 27 years, 83 races
Boaz Trakhtenbrot, 28 years, 81 races
Nikola Tesla, 28 years, 123 races
August Oetker, 30 years, 105 races
Geoffrey Hinton, 33 years, 232 races

Oskar Simony retired on the 29th of November after 305 total races where he could win 2 races out of an early escape. He was one stable pillar of the big Trakhtenbrot's success. He was ALWAYS there for the stage races and usually was the second man in tempo (after K&K collegue György Szabo).

After a long search, A&D finally found its money sprinter for 2023. The predecessors Alexandros Karatzoglou (2021, 16 wins) and Geoffrey Hinton (2022, 17wins, still active) were very successfull but also cheaper than our new Ukrainian sprinter Oleksij Iwachnenko. He will probably be trained as a traditional (Los Galacticos style) hill sprinter, but he also has some cobble talent.
Oleksij Iwachnenko, 20y
Bought: 49-56-65-59-81-60,2 46 reg
Goal: 65-56 with 85 sprint, or 50-70 with 85 sprint and 70 pave

Re: Schrödinger's Dogs: A&D
November 2022
Our team reached 5,838 points ranking place 14 in Division 1. Just 24 races ridden on November and 7 wins (3x Heuser, 2x Tesla, 2x Hinton). We rode a small stage race (Marocco Classics) were we could win the first team classement since April (Pais Vasco) and Volta finished on the 2nd GC. Highlight of course was the win at the San Francisco classic and that Heuser leads the afternoon offseason competition (+ A&D dominating the team ranking).
Rider of the month is Helmut Heuser, who could beat Hinton and Tesla this time.

Re: Schrödinger's Dogs: A&D
Dezember 2022
The team could collect 7,430 points in 28 races and finish on place 5 in Division 1. Highlight was the GC win of Alessandro Volta in this years December tour Calexico. A stage win of Tesla, the win of the youth classement by Volta and the team classification made the tour a big success. It was a good climbers field, with the old guns Blind (bergwerk), Cippola (Schnuggeritos) and Hunter (Vuvuzela) and the young opponent Velasco (stevens) who is the same age as Volta and already raced against Volta in Marocco. Nevertheless, regarding (stage) wins, the month seemed to be very unsucessfull until Christmas with just Tesla winning one stage at Calexico. But in the end, we have collected 4 stage wins (2x Tesla, 1x Hinton, 1x Iwachnenko). Biggest win emotionally was Hintons back to back win in Herne at the Jubilee race. It was the first race that Hinton could win in 2021 and it will probably also be his last win (18 total wins) winning it again in 2022.
Rider of the month
Rider of the month December is therefore Geoffrey Hinton. Just one win, but a RSF classic and a final award for a great rider and MSR winner and 2 times Herne winner. Mostly because the race was really though and the whole team managed to bring Hinton back to the front against a strong group.
Transfers
In December we found a second Italian rider, Carlo Avogadro. He will join today at the age of 21, and will be a helper and first guy in tempo. With his good reg skills, he will be part of every stage race squad in 2023.
Carlo Avogadro, 21
Bought: 48-66-77-53-48-63.6 61reg

2022 - Statistics Part 1
Let's see if we can bring some statistics back for 2022. We begin by summarizing the highlights and rider of the year 2022. This year, we had a clear dominator but also some unexpected Highlights to present. Let's start with the dominator of the afternoon until the GIRO. Winner of the afternoon GIRO and winner of 10 GC (incl Giro, Paris Nimes, Tour de Romandie, Pais Vasco and Tour de Suisse), 24 races (incl. San Sebastian, stages at Tour de Romandie, Paris Nimes, Catalunya, Pais Vasco, Tour de Suisse), 4x points classement (incl. Tour de Romandie, Tour de Suisse). Our rider of the year 2022: BOAZ TRAKHTENBROT
Apart from that highlighst, Wilfried Nöbauer won PR in the most boring afternoon edition by just doing nothing. Hinton could win a spectacular morning MSR with big effort and the necessary luck. In total we could win 85 races (place 4), which is way too much and a clear sign that we need more managers in the game. We are also leading in category 4 race and stage wins (15) which somehow reflect our successfull stage race squad of the first half of the year.

2022 - Statistics Part 2
Welcome back to our small statistics series. Our analytics team is very busy, so we bring some snippets about the last year bit by bit. Our main focus is to give our fans new insights. After bringing some key facts in Part 1, we are now focusing on the development of the team throughout the whole year. We visualize our 2022 journey in a bump chart, where you can see the development regarding placement in Division 1 for each month. For comparison, we also chose all other Division 1 winners of 2022.
Our team managed to win 4 Division 1 titles in 2020, followed by Hansa (3x), Los Galacticos (2x), Free Team, Team-Mojabahs and Alkworld (all 1x). We have our strongest period in the first half of the year, where Boaz Trakhtenbrot dominated the important stage races in the afternoon. We also finished 2nd and 3rd in April/June. After that, the dominance was over, the team could not compete in the Tour de France and Trakhtenbrot resigned. The team needed new riders and many old stars and helpers retired. This actually brought us back to Division 2 two times in a row, and in December the team was able to get a top 5 finish again thanks to Volta's victory in the December Tour of Calexico.
The free team was able to break our dominance with a lot of wins in the April classics. Hansa's dominant period began in the Tour de France/Vuelta phase of the year and Los Galacticos dominated the end of the year. Team-Mojabahs' victory was a curiosity, coming from Division 2, winning Division 1, and then being relegated back to Division 2 a month later.
There were only 2 teams of the division winners that did not have to make a detour to Division 2, free team and Hansa.

Re: Schrödinger's Dogs: A&D
January 2023
The team could collect 9,427 in 30 races and finished on place 3 in Division 1. The gap to the winner Alkworld was more than 1k points. The month was dominated by the stage races Atlas (January tour) and Tour Down Under. First could be won by Volta who could achieve the same fantasy double as Boaz Trakhtenbrot (winning December and January tour). Additionally Volta could also win his first 2 stages (TT and regular mountain stage at Atlas). Tesla also won 2 stages at Atlas (and the points classification) and a stage at Down Under (and the points classification). He is the first rider at A&D to win 2 points classifications in one month. Nevertheless, this already had tradition in former teams, see above. Tesla finished place 4 in the GC as well, beeing our leader there in absence of Volta missing the podium by just a single second. Helmut Heuser could win one of the Trofeo races late in the month, leading to a total of 6 wins in 30 races.
Rider of the month
Nikola Tesla is our rider of the month, winning 3 stages and 2 classifications and collecting most points for an A&D rider in January (1,386).
Transfers
None so far. We are still searching for a rider until the 5th of Februar.
Riders at former teams winning 2 points classifications in one month
Joost Bürgi, 12/2010 (Giro d'Abruzzo, Christmas Tour)
Carl Gauß, 03/2012 (Tirreno Adriatico, Coppi e Bartali)
Jeff Joker, 07/2012 (Pologne, Wallonie)

Transfer News
The team announces the retirement of 3 riders (Jakob Uexküll, György Szabo and Geoffrey Hinton).
Geoffrey Hinton was the A&D sprint star of 2022. In 271 total races he collected 6,148 points and won 18 races (including MSR, 1x stage at Catalunya, 1x stage at Paris Nimes), won the points classification at Catalunya and got 2nd at Piemonte. He was planned as a sprinter with some mountain and good flat+cobble skills who can compete in a lot of different races. In fact, he didn't win many hill sprints (just the one that counts) or cobble sprints but a lot of flat sprints beating way stronger sprinters. This was achieved by strong trains by his team mates Fall, Faye and Tesla. He started and ended his 18 wins with the win at the Tour de Herne 2021 and 2022, races he was really meant for. He leaves the team at the age of 38

Re: Schrödinger's Dogs: A&D
National Championships
We are glad to have 2 national champions in our team
Helmut Heuser won the Austrian championship at the age of 33. The competition was large and A&D was represented by Heuser, Loschmidt, and Prachar. Heuser and Loschmidt formed a two-man group within the first km. Early on, EMAG set the pace for the Lang dynasty, with other big teams like Ansach, T-Mobile-A, and Waerl staying inactive. Loschmidt was able to persist with the EMAG tempo and maintain the gap, with Heuser helping out early on. With about 3 min and 60 km to go, Heuser took over the pace but was forced to increase it soon after as EMAG continued the chase and changed riders. Despite this, Heuser was able to withstand the tempo and maintain the gap, with the hilly terrain and the refusal of other teams to bring in fit riders helping him. As the gap seemed secure, the power issues started, forcing Heuser to slow down to save energy at some points. Waerl eventually joined the chase, though it seemed impossible to catch up, and a late solo by former A&D rider Erich Tschermal was closing in. Heuser had to go all-out in the final +5 and saved 28s and about 10 energy points. He is the first A&D rider to win the Austrian championship, but the third for the manager (Harro Heuser in 10/2009 and Erwin Schrödinger in 02/2011).
NgôBao Châu won the Vietnamese jersey in his very first race at 21 against DuyLinh Ngo (Schnuggeritos) who was the only other active rider in that race. NgôBao could profit from Schnuggeritos beeing unattentive and gained a power advantage by letting fight Ngo, siebing him and letting him ride behind to close the gap. Surprisingly Ngo didn't try to distance NgôBao in the flat and also missed to cover the final +6 were NgôBao attacked and won the race surprisingly.
Other races were not very successfull. Biggest chances were given Faye/Fall in Senegal and Tesla in Croatia. But Senegal didn't end the way we hoped and so our flat riders were beaten by the classics. In Croatia all started fine in a very small and inactive group, Tesla hanging on the one other active rider, but he managed to get rid of Tesla at the 3rd or 4th red attack in the flat. In Germany, Fahrenheit and Ohm missed the start to go in the winning group, Celsius missed the whole race and Srivastav had no chance against 3 riders from an active team. Italy was not really much to do for Volta against big teams that desiced to do farm tricks to desperately try go get Ganna an Italian win and in Ukraine, Oleksij saw a OU win. France also was an interesting race with deCoulomb being in a group but never really had a chance against the teams with 3 or more riders.

I like the 5k club! Maybe because mine is the biggest of them all! At least I think .. might have check Alk...
But:
I demand that at least occasionally you include your former team! Yes, I realize you were fired, chased away in disgrace from both the team and the Waldviertel, but still, we want to get Infos about your oldies too! The young new team that came to the Andes with a bunch of underpar climbers then a few years later won it with some milky Schlömilch!
And it's over and done doesn't count, after all you're using the old thread. With some info/records on the first page, hopelessly outdated of course...

1. you beat Alkworld there by just a handfull of riders (means this lead will be gone in some months).Robyklebt wrote: ↑Fri Feb 24, 2023 3:31 pmI like the 5k club! Maybe because mine is the biggest of them all! At least I think .. might have check Alk...

2. I mention them for some highlight statistics (Monument, big wins, seasons in a row with wins, sprint jerseys in a month)
3. I will and cannot add the riders there because of the lack of information (age when entering and races needed).
4. I was a dealer earlier, had just a few riders to retire in my team. Schlömilch, the Capellis, even Mandelbrot were all sold
5. First Andes was fun with killing all of my riders at the very first stage

1 Not sure, Alk must have many more 10k+ riders, I'm more the 5k+ guy.... Checked, 22-15. So normally he shouldn't really make up much ground with the 5k guys, since his stars are more likely to go to 10k than mine.
2 Yes, but we want more!
3: Ok, incomplete then, without the age when they joined, still nice.
4: Well, if they reached 5000 just in your team would be enough... Of coure more clickable riders in the different stats would help....
5: My first memory of you... but not sure if the team was really many climbers (3 or so) but all not top or if I'm fantasizing...

Tesla joins 20 wins club
Nikola Tesla is the second A&D rider to reach the 20 wins club. In yesterday's one day race Industria, the team brought him in a good position for the win and Nikola outsprinted the opponents that were left. Tesla joins the club at the age of 32 after 198 races. He is the youngest member of our 20 wins club.

February 2023
Place 4 in Division 1 with 8,669 points in 26 races. 6 wins and 2 NC wins (2x Tesla, 2x Iwachnenko, 1x Volta, 1x Faye, NC Chau, NC Heuser), 2 point classements (Iwachnenko at Algarce, Tesla at Besseges), and 2 GC podiums (Volta 2nd at Besseges and Algarce). All in all a good season.
Rider of the month
Iwachnenko with his first good month preparing for MSR is our rider of the month. He could win 2 stages at Algarve and the point classement there.

Re: Schrödinger's Dogs: A&D
March 2023
With 10,556 points in 29 races the Team reached another top 5 place in Division 1. In total we could win 4 races but let's wrap it up concerning the imortant races and cathegories:
Stage races:
The team participated at Tirreno-Adriatico winning a stage and the points classification with Nikola Tesla. The mountain stages were a disaster after all. In a field without a clear favorite, Volta just got 4th in the GC and couldn't get a placement on the podium of a stage. Even worse after we did quite a good job controlling the hardest climb and not losing much time on Payot and Kießkutscher there. But with Kiraly in the back we then decided to ride the worst stage since our comeback at the final hilly stage and in the end even failed to get the safe podium. We then refused to ride Catalunya and focuse on the Belgian classics.
Milan-Sanremo
Clearly the highlight of March and in the end it makes it a very successfull month. Winning MSR with Tesla while having Iwachnenko, Celsius and Heuser on top form at MSR (Tesla just 93 there). A detailed race description is given in the classics thread. Second win in the MSR morning race in a row. Wonderfull. Grande Tesla!
Belgian classics
Tesla with topform at Gent-Wevelgem as it was not clear to go for Catalunya sprint jersey or try to win one of the classics. We decided to go for the classics with very little success. At Harelbeke we were faced with the hardest opponent on pave. Gipfelstuermer with his cobble armada. Tesla just with 65 pave and Fahrenheit a bit too less pave to really be the leader against the mass of Gip. So decided to try for Tesla. Siebing hard on the steep climbs, bringing a lot of classics, save some flat riders and sieb. Aggressive riding, unexpected for A&D at pave. And of course we failed. But we really made a big mistake to let Gip attack with Meyer to save him for the final +3***. So a 4 men group in front with MeylandSmith, Meyer and Ezzine from SouthWest Packers (+ a leftover from an ealry escape). Surprisingly they rode together very long and Ezzine had no problem to win the sprint. In the back groups were split, not working together for a long time. Better try to catch them together, but was clear it will be hard to get them waiting/working for a group with Tesla. In the end a 5th place for Tesla. Not fully disappointed but a bit. At Gent-Wevelgem Tesla managed to get a podium, he finished 3rd behind the better sprinters Vogt (Team FL) and Achaval (SouthWest Packers). No Gipfelstürmer in that group. Sprinters working together well after the siebs, not sure who wanted to keep them distanced. A&D with the tactic to survive with Tesla. He had the worst pave value of the 3 potentially surviving sprinters but the best mountain skill helped him. So this time the tactic was, stay calm, bring back the helpers and Tesla. Worked. In the final sprint there was a chance for Tesla. He was on the best sprinter Achaval and Vogt already launched from 450m bringing SWP into danger. He immediately sprinted with Lbida losing ground to Vogt. Achaval decided to go from 150m not able to catch back Vogt but late enough to outsprint Tesla. In the end a sprint at 200m would have been the chance for Tesla. Dwars door Vlaanderen we decided to go for Fahrenheit this time, again with Gip in the race and Tesla as a side captain. But very early Fahrenheit was isolated in front and was just about to survive for a long time. In the back Tesla Gamboa and some other sprinters working together. Finally ending 30s behind the winning group. Gipfelstuermer did a lot to catch back co-favorite Furpach who decided to go for a 2 men group. Poulnikov with the winning attack out of the final 4 men group were surprisingly (100 form but still) Fahrenheit was still in. The better sprinters didn't gain back seconds, so Fahrenheit joined, in the end just 1s missing. Probably Gabriel should have tried to follow Poulnikov. Fahrenheit finishing 4th was ok.
Rider of the month
No discussion, Nikola Tesla is our rider of the month with 3 wins (incl. MSR), a points classement (T-A), joining the 20 wins club in March, collecting 2,787 points in March, just Velasco (stevens) could get 300 points more.
Transfers
After 8 month at A&D Jaswant Srivastav retired today at the age of 35. He is the last rider we bought from the regular transfer market to improve our classics armada to support Tesla getting to 20 wins. He did 103 races for A&D and collected 3,152 points winning 2 races (incl. 1 Vuelta stage 2022) and the mountain classement at the Vuelta. With his reg, he was a nice classics rider but due to the high salary he was not used as much.

No joke, A&D found a new rider on the 1st April. Michael Faraday is 21 years and from the UK. He will be a cheap helper in the first 2 seasons and if the training is good, he is a potential pave leader 2024.

Tesla joins 10k club member
Nikola Tesla is the 3rd rider to join our 10k club. After classic TT leader Schwackhöfer and climber Trakhtenbrot, Nikola joins the club as first classic sprinter. But he also lost the leaders jersey at Pais Vasco, still chances for the green jersey are intact.
