Great rider, but I'm not gonna buy yet another sprinter :)

2nd career victory for Keeran

On today's race Valencia - Valencia we were trying to work for a bunch sprint from the get-go and got early help by Freudenfeuer. Unfortunately though cooperation ended when Humboldt couldn't keep up with the peloton at today's only climb and fell off. After a quick attack by High Flyer we could not stop to wait for Humboldt anymore to keep up the cooperation and had to step up the work rate. After the last obstacle on a 3kms long pavés section Tyler Keeran looked to be the strongest amongst the sprinters (he does better on pavés than most sprinters, to be fair) and we decided to wait for Gambrinus and Bugatti, who were still left with their sprinters. A good cooperation could catch up on the final kilometres, as Flanders Flyers amongst some more put together a four man group to contest victory. In the sprint, Keeran got the right wheel at the right time and was able to perform.

October 2016

With a fresh restart after our comeback into RSF the Wizards have managed to build a decent squad, only riding a few races in October though - 11 overall. Nevertheless our current captain Tyler Keeran managed to win the one day race Valencia - Valencia giving him his 2nd career win. We also built a squad with a lot of resources left (around 500.000 credits) and where able to gain almost identical income throughout our races this season. With a full nine man squad for next season we will probably ride one or two tours, but are likely to skip Campeonato de los Andes due to not having a climber at this moment.

> Rider of the month: Tyler Keeran
Of course winning a race without a competitive squad always feels good and Tyler did it again! We would've had some more chances but couldn't attend the races.

> Monthly income: 435.970

Having 1 million credits in the bank, we are looking to gain enough money to buy our 10th rider for December. This rider will for sure be yet another strong flat rider with a lot of regeneration - exactly what the team is missing right now. For future plans, we are not sure in which direction we want to go. What would fellow managers say? Shall we go for a classic rider? A climber? A good pavés rider? Tell me your thoughts!

New rider for next season

Wizards Cycling are happy to announce a new rider for next season. We're baffled the rider went out with such a low prize, so our next investment will need less money than expected! Here are the numbers:

Name: Jan Jacobs
Age: 20
Place of birth: Brügge
Nationality: Image Belgian
Skills: 53-74-60-47-60, 38 Reg, 68.6 Pavés

For only 1.650.000 he decided to join Wizards Cycling. Jacobs will be our first investment towards classic riders, as we have put a lot of effort into buying a good sprint team already and needed to expand our rider pool.

Cuba Tour with an unexpected success

We're still rusty. We're not the deadly classics team we used to be. Nevertheless, we managed to pull off a significant attack on the last stage of the 4 day Cuba Tour and earn Mads Spellerberg the young riders' jersey aswell as a top 5 finish in the general classement for him. We misstimed the attack though which prevented us from carrying the breakaway to the finish line ahead of the peloton. We could also not win any of the two sprint stages with Tyler Keeran, even though being amongst the favourites in the peloton. We missed the green jersey by a margin because of it. We're still rusty. The tour was a good success regardless and we're looking forward to more!
