Yep you're right Quick - first problem: I wasn't on Müller's wheel when the attack came. 2nd problem what you mentioned. Afterwards, I misplayed my chances because of stage 1 and 4 probably. But 3rd is okay

Clausen takes 15th victory for Wizards Cycling, historical mark

At the Japan Cup 23h yesterday, Manuel Clausen was - against all our predictions - victorious with a great job in the finale. We expected a classic sprinter to win the race because of the very many ones that participated includeing Pavel Penzek (Team Olmse) or Gabriel Makabäus (Killers). It was then a rather unknown team that made the deciding split at the last 9% hill. John Demong (Bentley, 83 climbing) made the pace on the steep, but short hill and many riders were selected. vandenAkker (Bentley) attacked against the flat-weak riders like Penzek, afterwards Clausen aswell. On the finish line, there were only vandenAkker and Renjok left in the group, apparently due to a bug that made Killers' Faruk Yasar not follow in Clausen's wheel. Because of this, the sprint was rather easy with a 99.9% winning chance for Manuel. He won but a few centimetres against vandenAkker and made a historical mark for Wizards Cycling: 15 victories for the team! Congrats Manu, his 16th stage win gets him into the well-known stage win statistics which by now is lead by Esteban Trueba. He probably won't catch him anymore, but 20 victories might be an aim.

Southland

Unfortunately the tour came to be a hard race to handle because it included Monday til Friday. Usually the time would be okay for me, but I came to be quite busy, so I missed a part. That's quite bad, nevertheless there was some interesting battles and Mark came to do two good sprints on the last day which makes the tour all right for the time we could spend for it. A victory was not achieved and probably not deserved this time.

General classement:
14th: Ndale Mbeki

Stages:
2nd: Mark Enkeevelaert

Finances:
197.400 Credits

Katchono: "I will ride until the next talent enters

Due to rapidly growing training problems André Katchono - who was an option to ride until December - might leave earlier than expected. He said: "I was talking with the management, and we said that if I can stay on my level until middle of November quite well, riding the December Tour might be an option as the last race. But know I see that it becomes harder day by day. And for this case we arranged that I will leave by no later than end of November to open chances for a new talent. I will ride until the next talent enters, yes. It wouldn't have changed anything at the great career I enjoyed. Of course, I didn't come to earn a win but was involved in many interesting moves during my entire career. I had fun chasing around the streets and pushing plenty attacks. I had - for a helper - a really nice job!"

Bolivia possible option now?

A new thought might have opened the chance for the Lizards to ride another tour than expected. Neither Centoanni nor Indonesia were taken into the calender, the tours where we surely would've participated. Gaelic Trophy doesn't seem interesting enough to ride, so we could deny riding it and Trans Sahara (which was the other option) for Bolivia. Normandie could be another tour to sign up for. Tomorrow we decide.

Routinier ends career.

Yesterday André Katchono, maybe the most important helper of the whole team history and the very last part of the old 2009 generation, ended his career. He achieved 645 points in unbelievable 328 races. This is team record! No other rider was involved in so many races and has made more work for the team. Unfortunately he was never able to achieve a palmares entry, but his team mates already said that their victories were depending on his work in most cases. He was part of the Wollfinger team and of the Clausen team and for his 14 1/2 months of riding we need to say: Thank you André, the team will never forget the Wizards Cycling flat bomber! You deserve to be mentioned in a honorable way for you commitment to the team. He and Adam Wollfinger will be cycling commentators in the television soon. We already heard they got a contract with Eurosport.

Clausen ends teams' low period, collects 18th victory in Greece

On the way from Athens to Sparte Manuel Clausen finally broke the teams' horrible low this month. After Leinad's classic sprinter was sorted out at the decisive 8% topsport brought the group before Leinad to the Flamme Rouge with a 10 second gap. Clausen rode the last kilometre and could easily win in the groups' sprint. By this we could finally break the 3 mio credits mark and climb up again to a relegation place into Division 1 for December. What a great comeback, and again the routinier could make it happen. The aim of 20 victories is still possible to reach for Manu, we hope for the best!

New talent recruited

For next month the Wizards will have a young belgian rider. His name? Oz "Ozzy" Oijterkamp (apparently in RSF you can't have first names with less than three letters, too bad!). The belgian will be a specialist for classic and mountain races. One of the most important riders for DICK2010 is now also in the squad, we are very happy! DICK2010: Time to reign.

Name: Oz Oijterkamp
Age: 20
Place of birth: Liège
Nationality: Image Belgian

Lasting thoughts finally ended, Mark out

For a long time now we couldn't believe in Mark "The Gun" Enkeevelaert anymore. After great surprises in his young years his attitude didn't increase to one of a real hero. Since we wanted him to be a captain for flat and lightly hilly races and were even building a team around this young belgian, we had great hopes for him. But now finally we made what should've happened when he was 24 - fire him. As Wizards Cycling wants to be an elite squad with riders that fit into the teams' machinery, attitude and atmosphere he was no more bearable. In the Netherlands, we found as a replacement, a new young rider. Here's what you'll get to see in December:

Name: Klaas Coolen
Age: 20
Place of birth: Kopenhagen
Nationality: Image Dutch
Skills: 53-74-78-57-51, 40 Reg

The young dutchman is originally born in Denmark, while his parents were living in it's capital city Kopenhagen. When he was five years old they moved back to the Netherlands, Amsterdam. Klaas joined the regional cycling club and quickly moved to Maastricht becoming adult. He started to find an interest in classic races and is going to be an important rider for the upcoming year hopefully.

Okay, need to write something here... nothing written for over two weeks, uah.

Clausen on the way to 20, today takes lime jersey and stage at Guyane. Before that Tom vanAmstel was able to take his first victory at a one day race on the philippines. And we've just seen that Nazareth - Bethlehem will be ridden again this year, YES!!! Of course we want to defend our title from last year when Basil Broucek and Kato Wolfsong attacked at some of the steep kilometres and were able to win in a great rally against Z-Racing-Team (was it Z-Racing-Team? Nevermind!). Basil could take one of the very best victories of 2009 there just before Wollfinger was able to win La St Sylv on Sylvester.... a great month and Clausen, van Amstel and Mbeki are willing to do it the czech way!

Victor takes first

Today on the - for our team planning of december - important race Pavés de Noel, Victor Overbos was able to win in a very late escape against Yannick Guireau. Dick Eickendreyer completed the group with the 3rd place. A great result, so now we can look forward to the upcoming races on Christmas aswell as the Christmas Tour. Maybe we'll even ride the Memorial race on 27th (if we have enough time, but should work out). So far, so good.

Okay, I've had enough. Next month possibly several new riders. FUCK YOU OZ, twice no climbing training?! Seriously, go to whatever hell you came from. Aswell as Klaas, don't know what to do with that jerk. Maybe a total refresh might be the best thing to do, and a little earlier than expected. So I wouldn't participate actively in the well-known classic races, but whatever. It sucks man. Restart probability 50%, will be decided tomorrow.

Let's have a quick goodbye to the by far most successful rider of this team: Manuel Clausen

Today, we will see a rider leave the team that made more than anyone else to put this team into the cycling elite. Just to name some wins: Gent-Wevelgem, San Sebastian, Lombardia. Of course, the rider is Manuel Clausen. The Uberclassic rider is a true icon of aggressive riding and especially one of those classic riders that could win without teammates. He started his career in October 2009 at Team "PeterMeter", a great manager. With 26 years of age having won Pavés de Noel aswell as Marmara's young rider classification and 72-83-63-46-63, he is found on the transfer market suddenly to join Wizards Cycling. We knew a very big rider was bought on the 21st of March. Just seven days after the contract was made he already won the big classic race Gent-Wevelgem against Pannayotis Yammas (Quick-Step) by millimetres and made a first step to become one of the greatest classic riders RSF has seen.
He never became very successful in a longer period except for two months, but always made his victories. And when he's won, he won the important stages. Cat. 2, Cat. 3, Cat. 5, Cat. 6 - but never a Cat. 4 race, strange ha (he though was close to win Piemonte, argh!). At the end of his career some Cat. 1 palmares came also, which didn't make the palmares look worse. Ending his career he now has won 19 stages, won 2 tours, earned one young rider jersey and 2 sprint classements. Furthermore he could win San Sebastian against big rival Emanuele Terranova in a crazy race, which began with 200 kilometres boring as hell. But with the finale the race grew interesting and unbeatable Terranova - due to a great tactic by US Lecce - was already on his way to win when the manager did a mistake to bring Manuel back into the race. He won and made his 2nd big classic win after Gent-Wevelgem and 2 Giro stages. Afterwards he showed that he is almost unstoppable in top shape when getting victory after victory at ENECO-Tour. There he was able to win 4 out of 8 stages (!) and of course the points classement aswell. But the greatest moment in his career was when he, already become 33 years of age, with thank god no minus training in that time has won the Giro di Lombardia. A dream came true which only Clausen was able to do for our team. An incredible run ends this month when he again won a points classement and stage at the unimportant Guyane tour.
Nevertheless he is one of the Top 5 riders of the RSF-Year 2010, our teams' rider of the year and at least for me the classic rider of 2010 because he took his chances to win important races anytime he was able to against rivals like Terranova, Branco, Brownham, Yammas, ... the list of strong skillers is endless this year, and he was able to beat most of them at least once. Thank you PeterMeter for the chance to win those races with such a great rider, I know you'll be proud of his career aswell as I am glad for his great successes. Thanks to all rivals and fans that made the races interesting at anytime in his entire career.

Manuel Clausen joins Wizards Cycling Hall of Fame, Team will start almost from scratch

As the third rider in Wizards Cycling history Manuel Clausen instantly after his retirement was honored to be in the Wizards Cycling Hall of Fame after Herbert Königsbauer and Adam Wollfinger. The team now will start almost from scratch. Almost all riders were sold except Tom van Amstel. So for January expect much much much new riders to kill the races of 2011, oooooh yes!
