The escape kings: CC, TKB and Ariegeoise

Post by Team Kazi Blocks » Sat Sep 09, 2017 12:42 pm

Liqui may be the best manager in the game, but he doesn't know how to succeed attacks. The three escape kings have not stolen their name. In a 154km long race these teams decided to attack. A group of 5 strong riders of three different experienced topteams was born. RTS Cycling saw the danger of a too strong group and gave us 30 seconds. Because no other teams were interested to kill their riders so fast, we got less than 4 minutes advantage. 5 teams tried to come closer, but with the great brains of the managers, the peloton loses the 5riders vs 5teams fight.

So it's clear the choice of rider and changing of intensity are important in escapes, but you also need the escaping talent which is a gift only a small amount of people have. After this race, many teams will be affraid of an attack with one of these teams...
And they should be.

Why this thread? because we are worth it.(and look to the chat of the race)

Taking example on Liqui on the Vuelta, we decided to play it David against Goliath.

Second kilometer, after an epic fight for getting into the group, 5 riders manage their way to the front. Andrei Marin, new rider Kazi Blocks, and Manuel Aguilar represents Team Kazi Blocks, two old grandpas from CircleCycle, Juha Salonen (37 yo) and the very experimented flatmonster Dave Speed (35 yo). Team Ariégeoise is represented by a young boy, Frédéric Pons, 22 years old.

It the peloton you can find great flatriders such as Maurice Rougon for Melange, Milorad Kosanin for Tukhtahuaev, Darren Bertrand for RTS Cycling, Weiner Roldan for Che Gue, or Sven Lamberty for Ronkini Imola, plus many others.

After letting the gap reaching 4 minutes, the 5 sprinters teams tries to get back on the group, who doesn't panic at all, and cooperate perfectly, managing their advance the best they can, suffering on their bikes but still riding so fast. In their ears, they could hear their perfect managers (we are handsome you know) anticipating the peloton moves, and motivating them with our powerful voices.

In an astonishing finish, the group finally reaches the finish lines 6 seconds ahead of the peloton, the shadows of the sprinters in their back. Great managing again from those 3. Andrei Marin wins a surprising sprint, where we could see that today's warriors still had some energy left. The 5 riders just smashed the 5 sprinters team.

I want to thank personally the Two Other Escape Kings, Team Kazi Blocks, and CircleCycle, for being so clever and also taking my rookie in the group, he needs to learn our skills. I think we have proven that escapes are the ultimate strategy in cycling, and that we have billions of light year of advance of knowledge for it.

Sprint is over. You've been fooled by many teams thinking you could win anything by sprinting. Go home BB ! Take a look at the Vuelta stage today, there'll be no sprint.

In conclusion, we are simply the best. Fear our return.

You got it all wrong in your first sentence even ;) But... of course we did an amazing escape that day. 5 riders (including 2 pullers) keeping 5 teams chasing away you don't see very often, but in the end Dave with his 89flat made the difference on the last 4kms. Unfortunately for Dave this resulted in being weakest in sprint and therefore finishing only on p3, still very nice result. In such situations, with such a good cooperation in the escape, everyone deserves the win equally and in the end Marin was strongest.
As remarkable this race was, normally it doesn't deserve an extra thread, but since Liqui posted some highly interesting bulls... - eh, sorry - thread about his triumphal strategy at Vuelta, we decided to make this kind of response, to make his thread even more ridiculous than it is already.
