The opposite, I think it's worse than "noob" or "you're shit", which is usually fined iirc.

I didn't say "you're a rat", I said TODAY you've "played like a rat".
A rat waits and then picks up the crumbs.

And on top of that, it's basic French cycling vocabulary :

Comparing humans with animals has quite a bad historic taste in German speaking countries. Maybe take that into account and think about an apology again.

Here's the race situation:

I have 64 mountain 72 sprint. 74-80, 66-86, and 64-79-78 helpers. The profile ends with an 8-6 combo and then some uphill/downhill with a bit of flat sprinkled in. Ends in 5, 2 downhill km, 0, 1, 1 if iirc.
Maybe around 15km after the 8-6.

There is no other team I can expect coop from after the sieb and a lot of teams have 2 classics. Sweet lemmon the only one with 3. Notable classics are an 78-82 and 73-83-78

I'm 100% getting siebed. Is a 64-79 enough to gain anything back or will I have to use my 86 flat rider before the 5? There was a 2-4-3 combo before the last 5 as well. So will I at least be able to bring my 74-80 fresh to the 5? Can coming back and block work in any scenario? And how likely is it?

Well, I honestly thought, there was near 0 chance at anything with my "classic" sprinter

Here's how it played out:

I get siebed at the 8. The 74-80 doesn't even drop to my sprinter because I don't believe in it. He still doesn't even end up in the best classic group with even some 72s in it. After the 6 they have ~18 seconds or so. Taka rides maybe a km or 2. Lula maybe joins one km or two idk. Anyway Lula is alone in tempo and attacks with his 78-82 and I think 73-79-65. Nobidy follows and his riders have no downhill, so shouldn't be dangerous. I got back without using anything except the 64-79. That's perfect for me. Way better than I could ever have expected but it's because YOU made mistakes. And still without him having downhill and a red attack, I had to use my 74-80 at the 4-3. To block attacks and because Lula wasn't an automatic catch.

Still my 66-86 fit, so couldn't have asked for more. And in the end it still wasn't enough to block and catch Schappy.

I feel 100% correct to not ride for my "chances" because other teams had much better ones and either chose to attack or also do nothing. Not even a fuck up by all the classic teams helped me and that without making a mistake myself. Also I'm also sure you wouldn't have made tempo in my situation. I don't think anyone who can look at profiles and fields and do some thinking would have tbh.

Yet after all that you still choose to compare my riding to those of a rat. And only mine.

This whole race summary was because we so often have hypothetical scenarios where you can never know how things really play out. But here everything played out perfectly for me. I couldn't have asked for anything better and still lost. You insult/provoke/call me a rattoner and still don't see the need to apologise.

I can live with the excuse of it being in your vocabulary. But holy shit is it annoying being "insulted" for just playing the game.

If you look closely at the way the sentence is phrased, you can see that I'm not attacking the human behind the computer, but the player's behaviour in the game. "Today you've played like a rat". If you take my definition of the word ‘ratoner’ posted above, it's clearly transposable to the game.

I understand that in some countries some words can have a bad perception.
But in France currently, mostly in the young communities, the rat is use on comic / ironic way to design someone with plans to do or pay less to have something nice.
Not a compliment but not a insult too. It is very very very light for me compare to a shit.

After if Quick felt offense please don't call him again a rat.
