I don't think agreements between teams in cycling are inappropriate or unfair. Such things exist in real-world sports and should have a place here too, because they are simply part of the game.

Riding mainly in the evening, I did not know the extent of the issue. Maybe I am just naive and wanted to believe everybody is here to have fun, not to win in any way possible. I fully understand it takes the fun out of the game if you have to question every move, whether it was secretly agreed on in the background. It takes the chatfluencing away that can be entertaining in the more boring stages.

We have seen a lot of defense of teams organized outside the game, but not so many opinions of managers not in such groups. I think we can no longer ignore this completely. I am still thinking that banning it during a race is the best option, but I am open to other suggestions. You can still discuss races, or mentoring teams outside races. If you have a mentee in the race, the relationship should be clear in the game, and the mentoring should be fully open.

Final note. It is a game of skills, not about the ability to build a friends group that cooperates.
