lonmaas

A "straight" line from France to the Netherlands. Getting though the Ardennes (I guess) and saying hello to a friend of us :)
Summer weather
Hills are not as hard as they look, only a few 6-7%

I like this one :)

Hot weather (I hope that's ok)
Several tactical options I hope :)

A challenging sprinter race in Oregon, you need a good team for this one.

Tour of New Zealand

This one week tour takes place during the european offseason. Since it's in the southern hemisphere, the climate is spring/summer, which might tempt some professionnal cycling teams to join the race.
For this year's edition, the organisators decided to start the tour abroad, in Australia. More precisely, in the state Tasmania, where the capital Hobart made a good start location.

Day 1
Image
Image

The tour begins with a double stage. First part is a team time trial of 30kms around the bay of Hobart. Second part is a relatively flat stage with some difficulties. Especially when the riders are tired.
km64 = 8 7 3 5
km147 = 4 5

Day 2
Image

On the second day, the race will start in the big southern city of NZ, named Invercargill, and head towards the north-east. This will be a flat stage, to recover from the first day and to give sprinters a chance. But they have to be careful for the 5%ers, especially the two situated in the last 15km, after 200kms of racing. A mass sprint is very likely in the streets of Dunedin.

Day 3
Image

The third day will be the first big mountain stage. Starting in Palmerston, in the north of Dunedin, the riders will meet and greet several hills during the day. And the climbers should fight for the stage win by Mount Difficulty.
Last hill: 7 4 3 6 7 5 7 8 6 -3 7

Day 4
Image

Day 4 will be a race by the coast, from Ashburton to Christchurch. The races will pay a visit to those lovely mountains which are half in the sea. The panorama must be really nice! But it will be a very tough day on a bike.
Last hill: 5 12 11

Day 5
Image

After their arrival in Christchurch, the riders will travel by plane to the northern island of New Zealand. The stage starts in Wellington, the Capital of NZ, and the riders will be headed northwards for an easy mass sprint in Palmerston after only 160km.

Day 6
Image

The second and last big mountain stage of the tour. The riders will start in Matamata, in the north of the island, and have to climb several hills on their way to Neavesville, a small town on the top of a big hill. Probably the last chance for playing the GC!
Last hill: 2 3 6 8 8 9 3 6

Day 7
Image

The last stage goes from Hamilton to Auckland and the fan's attendancy is expected to be very high. The two hills can lead to some action. Some riders could win or lose a jersey today.
km63 = 2 3 6 7
km116 = 1 9 8 4 3 -4 -5 1 6 2

Map: Image
Much traveling, but impossible to do something else.

Any suggestion of improvement is welcome of course.

Why not make it a 12-14 day Tour and participate in the Dec tour competition?

2 more days in Tasmania or so, then a rest day, transfer then add some stages in NZ and you have a 12-14 days tour for the Dec competition!

It's nice as it is as well, 4 sprints one of them a half stage, so a sprint not really sure, 2 mountain top arrivals, 1 hilly stage + a TTT. Cool tour like that too. Just think it's a shame that not more participate in the dec competition. This year so far only 3 for the moment. Ok, more are coming, but... the more the better. Ok, then the risk is that a nicely designed race will not be ridden, but bah, who cares. Leave that a 7 day tour and do something else somewhere else for a dec tour:!: Or change it to 12-14 days, risk that this one won't be ridden then of course.

Well I did not intend to participate in the competition, for some irrelevant reasons. I simply wanted to make a 8-10 day tour. But after asking, the grand manitou told me that 7 days was easier to schedule. So, only 7 days it became. Moreover, I struggled for hours to make a second mountain stage. It seems they don't have "cols" as in europe...

But now you almost convinced me to compete...
I could try to make 2 middle mountain stages, 1 flat and one mountain stage. If the topography allows it, which could be much tougher as expected.
Especially since it al seems to fit pretty well now imo, regarding the energy/reg and the points.
But ok you almost convinced me to try.
Additionally, I have less time to spend now than last week(s)...

Or a different tour ? But requires even more time.

New Tour why not, this one actually looks fun, so no need to change it. Because if you do and don't win the competition it won't be ridden... new tour, you still have 20 days time, go for it!

Less time? Pff, hey, you're the guy that learned German out of boredom in the last 2 weeks, so you'll find the time :D Start now!

I had to save it as OLCycle, my own account didnt seem to work.

An early sieb opportunity for strong teams. And then two hard climbs followed by a very long downhill section. Final kms = 7-4-(3)-0

Another classic race. Pretty tough.
Created with the automated program by iBanesto. I checked quickly the %, it's interesting, but for serious stuff you have to adjust manually the kms, otherwise it's a bit nonsense-ish.

FYI: GP Slovakia and Longwy-Marseille have not been used so far, I believe.
