Alive & Dead Races Database

Post by flockmastoR » Wed Apr 27, 2011 2:53 pm

Overview

Our designer uses the first post as a history for our designed races. So this post serves as a database of still available AAD races and tracks if/when the races are ridden. Probably we group races together based on type or geolocation, but this will be added if enough designs are available. We just start and look if this makes sense:

Race ridden on date
not ridden/still available

So now that i have time i would like to show you a design for a farewellrace for Erwin Schroedinger, hope we can race it around middle of october if there is no real race. its a little very hilly race from Wörgl to the place where Erwin Schrödinger lived his last years: alpbach. i'm gonna talk with leso for the realisation when its time.

database: erwinfarewell

ps: did this with iBans new automatic-program and t4b, very nice for fast creation of fantasy races

I hope it's okay to post here. Just wanted to say that Erwin is a remarkable character of this years' RSF scene and really deserves such a race. I am sure many others will think the same, especially since now we give farewell races even to time trialists that no one cares for..

Hm start to publish some stuff here again. Starting with a new series of races on the basis of bands/songs. Here we go

Cypress Hill in cypress, just the name sounds funny. The band has nothing to do with cypress.
Image

Limassol reminded me on a song from Maxïmo Park, whose band name comes from the Máximo Gómez Park also known as Domino Park. Interesting story, but the race is just flat, ending in the park.
Image

Beverly Hills is a very famous song by Weezer. As I like to design hilly ciruits (Hollywood Hills forever my most favorite design within the December tour 2022), I made another hilly circuit visiting a gated community in Beverly Hills, they sponsored many intermediates.

Fake Tales of San Francisco

The next race comes from one of the early songs by the Arctic Monkeys. The riders are visiting some of the places referenced in the lyrics. Have fun!

Sam's Town

The Killers, a band from Las Vegas, dedicated their entire studio album Sam's Town to their hometown. While their biggest hits like Mr. Brightside and Somebody Told Me are from their debut album Hot Fuss, Sam's Town is their most personal and, in my opinion, their best album—and one that has had a significant personal influence on me.
