Since the Spanish never accepted Gibraltar to be part of the British crown, organizers tried to make people come together in peace during a big sports event. The course from Malaga to the Europa Point is a tough classical race with an open end for strong climbers aswell as classic riders. Right in the race are three interesting climbs: the early Altos de Marbella with 5-7-12% (km 66-68), a climb around Benahavís with 3-2-1-3-2-2-9-14-3% (km 94-102) and the climb in the finale in Gibraltar with 3-9-6-3% (km 171-174). As a memorial race for the more or less historic event of Pheidippides´ run from Marathon to Athens to announce the victory of the greek forces against Persia, this epic track will be ridden as an individual time trial. Even though it is not clear if Pheidippides really existed or ever ran this track, there is no need to not let the legend live in a sports event. Last 10km: 0, -1, -1, -2, -1, -1, -2, -1, 2, -4

I didn't mean to say it. But I meant what I said.

Ronde van Indonesie

Country: Image Indonesia, Image Malaysia, Image Singapore
Overall length: 620km
Climate: Tropics, humid
Stages: 5
Specials: Semi-stages on Day 1
Database: doorindonesia1a, doorindonesia1b, doorindonesia2, doorindonesia3, doorindonesia4
Date of race: ?

Day 1

Image

On the first day the tour will be outside but next to Indonesia. Up first is a semi-stage in Malaysia for the sprinters. Since the King of the hill-classement will get a leader on the 2nd semi-stage, there is no intermediate mountain sprint on this one. Last 10km: -2, 0, 0, 0, 2, 2, 1, 0, 0, -1

60s/km at km: 86

Image

The second semi-stage is just a few miles ahead in Singapore, starting in Singapore City. When arriving in Bukit Timah the riders will enter a circuit to be ridden five times before a flat finish will get the sprinters into position again. 7km Circuit: 5, -4, -1, 1, 2, -2, -1. Last 2km: 0, 0

60s/km at km: 44

Day 2

Image

On the 2nd day we finally arrive in Indonesia (Sumatra) after a sea transfer, and what a great stage is up ahead! On the way to Sumbul the classic riders and climbers will fight for the win. The first and very hard climb to Tongkoh will really start at Km 88. Here is the mountain information: 9, 4, 2, 5, 5, 6, 5, 4, 4, 2, 6, 3, 9, 5, 7, 6, 5, 7, -3, 3, 6, 4, 5. When Tongkoh is passed, the stage will get rather flat again before the finale. On the way to Sumbul everything can happen, the last climb might even keep open the stage for almost every strong climber in the peloton, nevermind if climber or classic sprinter. Last 10km: 6, 4, 4, 5, 1, 2, 4, 2, 2, 0

60s/km at km: 141

Day 3

Image

On the last transfer we enter Java and will see an individual time trial in Downtown Jakarta, the country's capital. It lasts 24kms and has an easy profile.

60s/km at km: 1

Day 4

Image

The last stage will be heading from Jakarta to Lembang near to Bandung. It lies more central on the island and is quite hilly. After arriving in Lembang for the first time the stage will have a big course around the area also crossing Bandung. With 273 kms to go everything might happen here. Last important climb: 7, 4, 2, 3, 3, 1, 0, 12, 7. Last 11km: 6, 4, 3, -3, 0, 1, -1, 0, 1, -1, 0

It's written no posting on top... kind of scard to post here now, do it anyway... don't hit me, be nice.

Nice tour! Would have liked to see it as a full dec tour! Like the start a lot, with stage 2-4 as an early test, but not really decisive. Ok, maybe in a 12-14 day tour you would have had it differently, still, like it.

Since some guys posted here anyways, nevermind. So just remains on "no spamming". Thanks, I like to read that my efforts hit the right direction. It gives more motivation to really work out a tour for December 11! Maybe then again with a Roby-tour? ;)

Queens Lake Criterium

Country: Image Australia
Overall length: 96km
Stages: 1
Specials: Only 60s/km
Database: queenslake
Date of Race: ?

This is going to be a classic race Down Under. The parcours is 96km long and starts in the city of Taree lying ahead to the Tasman sea in the eastern part of the country. On the way to the finale rising to the Queens Lake State Forest there are two climbs to be ridden: The Middle Brother (8, -4, 0, 7, -4, 9) and the North Brother (6, 11, 13, 12, 4). The final ascent will be probably for climbers, but classic riders will have a little chance to escape. The organizers would like to keep the race for max. 8 riders per team because of the small distance. Last 10km: 0, 0, -1, 9, -4, -1, -1, 0, 3, 11

Since the Spanish never accepted Gibraltar to be part of the British crown, organizers tried to make people come together in peace during a big sports event. The course from Malaga to the Europa Point is a tough classical race with an open end for strong climbers aswell as classic riders. Right in the race are three interesting climbs: the early Altos de Marbella with 5-7-12% (km 66-68), a climb around Benahavís with 3-2-1-3-2-2-9-14-3% (km 94-102) and the climb in the finale in Gibraltar with 3-9-6-3% (km 181-184). For this year the organizers give us even ten additional kilometres following a different route from Estepona to the city of San Roque to come back to the old route in Santa Margarita for the well-known finale in Gibraltar. Instead of thinking about boycotting Lombardia you should do something about the Southern Sun classic! And visit the nice general discussion off season thread!
