Re: March 2014
Only Cipressa and Poggio.
Looking to the official homepage they have the following picture as Altimetria for 2014:

Original Text:
Niente Pompeiana alla Milano-Sanremo 2014, si torna al 2007
La strada della salita è chiusa da entrambi i lati. Si torna al tracciato per velocisti su cui vinse Freire. Si corre domenica 23 marzo
Rough translation:
Nothing Pompeian Milan-San Remo in 2014, it's back to 2007
The path of ascent is closed from both sides. We return to the track for sprinters on which Freire won. It runs Sunday, March 23

Re: March 2014
So for the end of the month.
Milano - Sanremo looks the same of 2007. Even if they reserve the right to change again the route
Poke designed Harelbeke and Gent-Wevelgem looks like the same of last year. (viewtopic.php?f=15&t=67&start=100#p78144)
For Coppi and Bartali we cancel it? We move it? In that case we will have Catalunya + Criterium + Classics. Think it's enough.

I cancel the Criterium this month, it´ll start after De Panne.
Re: March 2014
Hey leso.
I do not like the finale of the actual version in the calendar of San Remo
according to the official (very detailed) pictures it is for Cipressa
7 -> 63 = 56
63 -> 107 = 44
107 -> 153 = 46
153 -> 205 = 52
205 -> 223 = 18
223 -> 239 = 16
which i would round to: 6 - 4 - 5 - 5 - 2 - 2
and for Poggio
24 -> 71 = 47
71 -> 110 = 39
110 -> 146 = 36
146 -> 160 = 14
which i would round to: 5 - 4 - 4 - 1
Maybe some round it a bit different but right now we have a lack of altitude.

Re: March 2014
The tricky thing here is that there are such huge differences in RSF physics between 4, 5 and 6%. So any way you round, you'll make somebody unhappy without making the whole thing 100% realistic. For Cipressa, there could even be a 2nd 6% at km 3 or 4 (km 2.5 - 3.5 has 5.7 % in average), but the current version or skullz' version are perfectly fine as well. The Poggio however certainly deserves a 5% in the beginning according to those detailed profiles, but I'd make 5-4-3-2 out of the detailed profile (only 3% at km3 to make up for the altitude "lost" on the previous 2km, 2% for km4 because it's 14m difference on 710m).skull wrote:Hey leso.

Re: March 2014
Have to admit the current version confuses me too....
242, Capo Mele a 6? Actually 2 6. We end up at 80 meters... it's 67 meters above sea level... And looking at the profile it looks like we actually start the climb already at way over sea level. Last year it was 2 4.... not that I really liked last years version, but Capo Mele so far never was a 6 for us.
Capo Cervo: After Mele down 90 meters (from 67....) then up 50. 1-4. The official altitude is 61 meters. just 6 meters below Capo Mele... but look at the profile.... Mele looks double the size... 1 4 here might be ok, no clue, it's from 5 to 61 meters, that's 56, can be 50 or 60 meters. Last year was 3 3, but 1 4 might be ok, don't really know.
Capo Berta: 2 6. It's 10 meters lower than Capo Mele for RSF. Reality says 130 meters, which according to Adam Giant is almost double the 67 meters of Capo Mele. We start at almost sea level. 5 to 130 in 2,5 km according to the cronotabella. The first part though is basically flat. But it goes up more than 80 meters for sure. 5+80 is.... .correct, 85. 45 meters missing. Not supporting last years 4 7 either btw, IMO that's wrong too, the climb is pretty even... hardest part in the middle, beginning and end easier if I remember correctly.
The problem here though of course is that there is no reliable data from tracks4bikers (is that working again?) google earth etc. available. The altitudes along the Ligurian coast are notoriously all over the place. So to really find out what the right thing is... we'll have to get local maps for that. Or somebody going over it on a bike.
But a better job than this is certainly possible. Check the cronotabella. See the distances and altitude gain. And for that RCS is usually reliable. So you have the real heights, then check google earth or some online map to see when the climb looks to start, check with street view to confirm. For Capo Mele for example to me it looks like roughly 1,6 km. the start of the climb is easy to see... the end a bit more difficult. But doesn't matter that much if it's at 1,4 or 1,6....it's clear, more than 1 km, less than 2, so it's more something like 2-4, 1-4? 3-3, or 2-3 or 3-2 than what we have now. 2-6...
IMO clear, Mele no 6, not even close, Cervo whatever, the difficult one is Capo Berta. It might well be 6-6 in reality, but due to the RSF sieb specific, 5-6 or even 5-5 might be more realistic.. I'd go for 5-6 personally.... the 6 which is there, appears, but second km, so easier for sprinters to come back, and only 1.
Cipressa and Poggio skullz already mentioned stuff.

Cervo 1,4
But I´m not sure for Berta 5,6 or 5,5 ...I´m more for 5,5
