Calendar October 10

Post by Robyklebt » Fri Sep 10, 2010 8:04 am

Piemonte cat 4, not 3.

Milano Torino on the other hand, not raced again in reality, for the third year in a row. Maybe could be downgraded to 2 even.
Japan Cup the 24th!

Then: Tour du Faso? Really necessary? It will be 10 or 11 mostly flat days as far as I know. With occasional dirt road parts. Since I think we don't have a good "dirt road- solution" don't really think it makes sense having it in our calendar. Just have it as normal roads? So we get a 10 day sprinter Tour? Do we need that? Make the dirt roads pavé: Then we have a flat tour with some pavé parts (as far as I know there aren't dirt roads every day either). Parallel to the pavé tour. Not really brilliant either. So I say cut it. You have 700000000000000 fantasy tours, use one of them instead. Or, if we really want Faso (which will be really fun to design to I suppose, don't count on me) make it a D5+6 Tour. That's what it is in reality too. The elite of Burkina Faso and maybe the rest of Africa, plus some European amateurs.

Pavétour: Who's designing? I'm for skull again. We had bella in 06, Highway in 07-08, Skull in 09. Was a good Tour, let him do it again in 10. And get iBan or so to do it in 2011, maybe that will convince him to restart playing RSF instead of just dominating us in Teamtoto.

Jura: Still planned? I can kick the laziest designer of all times, Mr Zauberlehrling to do it fast, now, today. Not that it will work, but I enjoy kicking and ordering him around even if it has no effect.

Off-topic: When will the competition for the dec Tour start? When will the vote be. leso needs to lay down the rules again (expect that they will be the same as for 2009)

first year without a time trail, in the first year tt-skills of all pave riders are not equal and could have added an interesting component... But nethertheless very interesting stages.

Found no infos yet about it for 2010, but as far as I remember it is for 6 riders per team. And it suits to the short distances of the stages. For RSF there maybe again has to be a 7th rider in consolidation of the one-legged-sprinters.

How are the chances to ride the "Tour du Jura" again this year ?
Does ZL design it again ? or another Jurassic fan?
Or french Jura this year ?

Ha, this anti-swiss leso wants the lesser Jura this year, pfff.

ZL mentioned the other day that he'll make it.

Well, since you're online maybe this works too.

Make sure that during the pavétour in october we get to see the pavé values. Any races with pavé before that, especially those on the 15th of sept of course too.

Oct 1, Edimburgh - Newcastle.

It's Edinburgh, isn't it?

All search results for "Edimburgh" I looked over seemed to be just a spelling mistake and referred to "Edinburgh".

Edimbourg in french ;)
But if you start talking about this kind of errors, I still wonder why someone wrote Paris-Nimes instead of Paris-Nice.

Oho

Nice to know, thank you
But if you start talking about this kind of errors, I still wonder why someone wrote Paris-Nimes instead of Paris-Nice.
That came from a discussion about fears regarding copyrights of races and/or their names. At that time we started to use some modification of race names. Paris-Nimes for Paris-Nice, Torino-San Remo instead of Milano-San Remo etc. But it proved a failure as only a few names got modified and many users continued to use the official names.

Aha I understand.
Well as long as there is no official warning, it should be fine... :D

Is that the way it goes? At first an official warning without any evil punishment for Buhmann and the game? I don't know much about that matter.

Well as far as I know, for copyright things they usually start by sending a warning or a request to change the names. But I'm not specialist at all, seems logic and I think I've heard such things before.
But ASO is not known for their cool attitude neither :?

Yes, the ASO...
But if a initial warning would be obligatory, we wouldn't have to fear anything. But no one knows exactly about how the rules are..

I like Gengis! Less work for me. Completely forgot it anyway.

Lombardia:

http://www.gazzetta.it/Speciali/GiroLombardia/2010/it/

New course. Tradionally I have never done Lombardia, let's keep that tradition and somebody else can do it. Piemonte not on yet, will come on soon I guess. Perfect for Aux again of course Piemonte. Lombardia too if he wants, or anybody else.

Jura update: ZL yells at me: "I WILL DO IT" But when? "SOON!!" He's not a very friendly person.

I think flat stage is ok. The same for all the stages. And there are only some 6% kilometers. No need to make it middle mountain in my opinion.

Tour du Jura is designed... it will be a hard tour with 4 stages as usual, the second stage will be the TTT. Details will soon follow.... Chatelain is looking forward to cycle through his hometown!
